Sl: Megle se dvigajo nad jezero Bled.
En: The mist rises over Lake Bled.

Sl: Listje, obarvano v zlate in rjave odtenke, plava po mirni vodi.
En: Leaves, colored in golden and brown hues, float on the calm water.

Sl: Na otočku se kot stražar dviguje cerkev, obdana z zaveso megle.
En: On the island, like a sentinel, the church rises, shrouded in a veil of mist.

Sl: Na obali v daljavi se svetijo vrhovi Julijskih Alp, že rahlo pokriti s snežno odejo.
En: In the distance on the shore, the peaks of the Julian Alps glisten, already slightly covered with a snowy blanket.

Sl: Matej stoji ob obali, še vedno v mislih.
En: Matej stands by the shore, lost in thought.

Sl: Že odmalena sta se z Alenko srečevala tukaj, na ta dan.
En: Since childhood, he and Alenka have met here on this day.

Sl: Ob svetem Andreju izmenjata seznam želja in sanj za prihajajoče leto.
En: On St. Andrew's day, they exchange lists of wishes and dreams for the coming year.

Sl: Obljuba, sklenjena pred leti, sta najlepša vez in spomin na otroštvo.
En: A promise made years ago is the most beautiful bond and memory of childhood.

Sl: Danes pa je nekaj drugače.
En: But today is different.

Sl: Mostiček, ki vodi na njuno skrivališče, je včeraj nenadoma popustil.
En: The small bridge leading to their hideout suddenly gave way yesterday.

Sl: Poleg tega v zraku visi nevihta, nevihte se zbirajo nad jezerom.
En: Moreover, a storm hangs in the air, storms gathering over the lake.

Sl: Matej čuti veter, ki ga trese do kosti.
En: Matej feels the wind shaking him to the bone.

Sl: "Moram do nje," si misli.
En: "I must reach her," he thinks to himself.

Sl: Matej ve, da ni lahko prečkati jezera po drugi poti, a obljuba je obljuba.
En: Matej knows it is not easy to cross the lake by another path, but a promise is a promise.

Sl: Vedno je držal besedo.
En: He has always kept his word.

Sl: Matej začne hoditi po blatnem robu jezera.
En: Matej starts walking along the muddy edge of the lake.

Sl: Veter ga piha nazaj, a srce ga vleče naprej.
En: The wind blows him back, but his heart pulls him forward.

Sl: Sreča potok, ki divje drvi.
En: He encounters a stream rushing wildly.

Sl: Ogleduje si zamaknjene kamne, ki so delno potopljeni v vodo.
En: He eyes the dislodged stones, partially submerged in water.

Sl: Odloči se.
En: He makes a decision.

Sl: "Alenka," zakliče vase, "moram te videti danes.
En: "Alenka," he calls within, "I must see you today."

Sl: "S previdnostjo stopi naprej.
En: With caution, he steps forward.

Sl: Kamen za kamnom.
En: Stone by stone.

Sl: Vode ga škropijo, a ne ustavijo.
En: The water splashes him, but it doesn't stop him.

Sl: Veteran njegovih stopinj ga vedno bolj nosi naprej.
En: The force of his determination carries him onward.

Sl: Ko končno stopi na zadnji kamen, se zravna in pogleda proti cerkvi.
En: When he finally steps onto the last stone, he straightens and looks toward the church.

Sl: Alenka stoji na drugi strani.
En: Alenka stands on the other side.

Sl: Njene roke mahajo v zrak, obraz je osvetljen s svetlobo nevihte.
En: Her hands wave in the air, her face illuminated by the storm's light.

Sl: Iskri se jezero, a njene oči so tople.
En: The lake sparkles, but her eyes are warm.

Sl: Matej hiti k njej.
En: Matej rushes to her.

Sl: Noga zdrsne po mokrem terenu, vendar se obdrži pokonci.
En: His foot slips on the wet ground, but he stays upright.

Sl: Ko doseže obalo, ga Alenka objame.
En: When he reaches the shore, Alenka embraces him.

Sl: Oba se zasmejita in zasopeta od napora in veselja.
En: Both laugh and gasp from exertion and joy.

Sl: "Vedela sem, da boš prišel," reče Alenka.
En: "I knew you would come," Alenka says.

Sl: "Ni pomembno, koliko je ovir," Matej odgovori.
En: "It doesn't matter how many obstacles there are," Matej replies.

Sl: "Naša obljuba je pomembna.
En: "Our promise is important."

Sl: "Nevihta se umirja.
En: The storm calms down.

Sl: V vetru počeši listje med sabo, a mir in moč njune vezi sta močnejša.
En: In the wind, the leaves brush against each other, but the peace and strength of their bond are stronger.

Sl: Matej zdaj ve, da je vsak izziv premagljiv, če si ga deliš z nekom, ki te pozna do dna srca.
En: Matej now knows that any challenge is conquerable if shared with someone who knows you to the depths of your heart.

Sl: Sestavita sezname želja in sanj.
En: They compile lists of wishes and dreams.

Sl: Napolnita jih z upanjem.
En: They fill them with hope.

Sl: Ob jezeru Bled jima svetloba svetega Andreja znova prinese mir.
En: By Lake Bled, the light of St. Andrew once again brings them peace.

Sl: Tako začeta z otroškimi sanjami, zdaj močneje povezani, Matej in Alenka vesta, da bodo novi izzivi le del poti, ki jih povezuje.
En: Having started with childhood dreams, now more strongly connected, Matej and Alenka know that new challenges are just part of the journey that binds them together.
