Text: Judges 4
We all know what it means to fear something, because we have all at times been afraid. It is true that God Himself doesn’t give us a spirit of fear, but sometimes the very things that God calls us to do can cause us to fear. If we look at God’s call through our own eyes or through the eyes of the world, we will likely determine that the call is too great and we will fear the outcome. However, we need not fear. In this message, God gives us a simple but powerful illustration to learn how to trust Him, even when we are afraid. Be sure to listen today so that you, too, can learn to trust God no matter the circumstance.
Text: Judges 6:14-16, 6:36-7:24
Most of us want to experience the Greater Things that God has in store, but are we willing to really look to God and trust Him? It is easy to trust God in theory, but when the rubber meets the road and God calls us to do something that is uncomfortable, what then? Are you willing to trust God when God puts you in a situation where the odds are completely against you? Are you willing to trust God when He calls you to do something that you never envisioned? Please be sure to listen to this message today so that you can learn to trust God, even when it doesn’t make sense.
Text: Ephesians 3:14-21
Have you ever thought you were unqualified to do something God was putting before you to do? Has following God’s will ever caused a sense of fear or being overwhelmed? In our walk with the Lord, there are certainly times that He stretches us and calls us to do things that He knows we absolutely cannot do on our own. It is in these times that God is wanting us to discover something profound. Be sure to listen to today’s message so that you can discover this truth and walk in it.
Text: Acts 10:1-45
Throughout this series of messages we have been reminded of the sincere commitment and devotion of the early church. This final area of commitment radically impacted the early church, but it is also still impacting us today. Be sure to listen to discover your part in God’s plan to reach the world through Jesus Christ.
Text: Acts 4:31-5:14
Many of us struggle with commitment for a vast array of reasons. However, our growth and progress in life is largely dependent on our level of commitment in key areas of life. In the early church, we find that they had four key commitments that caused them to develop into the Church that the Lord wanted them to be. Not everyone was on board, and not all followed God’s plan, but those who did experienced Him in powerful ways. Be sure to listen today to discover the third key commitment of this young body of believers.
Text: Acts 2:38-47
Are you following Jesus? Many would answer, “Yes!”, to this question with confidence because of a past experience when they trusted in Jesus and repented of their sins. However, our past decision to follow Jesus doesn’t automatically mean that we are still following Him today. In this message, we look closely at the early Church to discover what following Jesus should look like in our lives. I challenge you to listen today and examine your heart and life so that you can be sure that you, too, are a devoted follower of Jesus.
Text: Acts 2
We live in a day where few people like to commit to anything. However, in order for us to grow and progress in life, we must have commitment. In this message, we discover to whom and what God wants us to be committed. Be sure to listen today so that you can be sure that your priorities are in line with His.
Text: Philippians 1:12-14, 18b-27
All throughout the Old Testament, at every major transition in the nation of Israel, God calls His people to three specific actions – Remembrance, Renewal, and Recommitment to His plan. Before God does a great work among His people, He often does the same things even today. He causes us to remember His faithfulness, to repent of our sin and be renewed, and then to get to work doing what He has called us to do. In this message, God calls all believers to remember our primary calling and to fulfill it with joy and perseverance. Be sure to listen today to discover how you, too, can fulfill your calling.
Text: Haggai 2:1-9
Have you ever experienced a change in your life that you weren't prepared for? Most people have, and when that change comes it can be hard to put God's will first instead of our own. That was what the Israelites struggled with as they attempted to rebuild Jerusalem in the book of Haggai. Pastor John Welborn, former pastor of Crosslink and now lead pastor at Salem Church, NYC, unpacks how the Israelites 'me first' mentality affected their faith and trust in the Lord. We are called to examine ourselves so that in our own lives we resist the temptation to put our will before God's will as we encounter change.
Text: Psalm 77:11
Most people in our society lead busy lives running here and there and trying to meet the rigorous demands of life. This hustle and bustle can often overwhelm us and distract us from the things that really matter in life. When we get to this state we often become like the people in Malachi 1 who forgot how God had shown His incredible love for them. The cure for Israel is still the cure today - to take the time to remember. Be sure to listen as guest speaker Randy Spencer invites us to pause and remember God's provision throughout history and His blessings at Crosslink over the past 10 years!
