We live as if we need to know everything — control everything, predict everything, fix everything. But in Matthew 6, Jesus reminds us of a freeing truth: God is all-knowing, and we are not.
Prayer isn’t about informing God of something He doesn’t know. It’s about trusting the One who already sees the full picture. When we try to “play God,” we carry burdens we were never meant to hold — anxiety about tomorrow, control over others, frustration when life doesn’t follow our plans.
But when we begin our prayers with, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,” we reset our perspective. God is holy. God is sovereign. God is wise beyond our understanding. And His will is better than ours — even when it’s harder.
This message calls us to surrender:
Surrender the need to be seen.
Surrender the need to control outcomes.
Surrender the illusion that we know best.
Trust the God whose knowledge is perfect and whose ways are higher.
We don’t have to understand everything to trust the One who does.
