Beginning on Sunday, we will pause our journey through 1 Peter to explore a very unique story in John's gospel.

The quiet confidence and control shown by Jesus as He deliberately heads toward the crucifixion is breathtaking. It is one of my favorite parts of the New Testament.

If we take John's account to heart, it will change the way WE live. Read John chapters 14-18 and join us in worship this Sunday!

Let's be in prayer for our Easter weekend services, invite everyone we can to come with us, and be ready to celebrate life in Christ!

One of the benefits of teaching through entire books of the Bible is that we can discover what God says about topics that we may otherwise miss.

As we continue our journey in 1 Peter, we will hear what Peter told first century Christians they should do about the governing authorities - including the Emperor. It's a challenging but ultimately COMFORTING, GOSPEL-SOAKED portion of God's Word.

This week I have talked to several people away from the church who were visibly stressed about world events: wide eyes, raised voice, anxious talk. "The way this world is going, I just KNOW the time is short..."

The good news is that 1 Peter addresses this directly! Peter has been telling us who we ARE, now he is going to tell us what to DO. It couldn't be more timely.

It has been wonderful to see the church full again, and we've enjoyed getting to meet a lot of new people. From charter members to newcomers, our purpose is to make everyone a wholehearted follower of Jesus. Join us Sunday and let's take the next step together.

Identity.

For most of us, it’s not as stable as it once was. Loss, change, pain, and fear can all shake our sense of who we ARE.

That’s why the next passage in 1 Peter 2 is so vital. I hope you’ll join us Sunday for worship as we look at one of the most staggeringly beautiful passages in the New Testament. It tells us exactly who we ARE.

God's Word is treated differently even among people who say they are following Jesus.

*Some people use it as a source for quick inspirational quotes in the morning.

*Others, being more dutiful, do more serious reading, but don't seem to benefit much from it.

According to the apostle Peter, the Word of God has ALREADY given us new life, and what we do with the Word NOW makes a huge difference. God has provided all you need. You just need to do what He lovingly tells you.

Last Sunday we began a journey through 1 Peter, a letter from a pastor comforting scattered, suffering people. It could not be more timely in this strange age of loss, displacement, and unexpected troubles.

As he begins his letter, before Peter addresses present suffering, he gives us a view of future glory.

It has been there all along, but I was so enthralled with what I found that I had to text some people about it even as I was writing the sermon!
