There are people who want to be freed from their illnesses, and then there are people who become content with their illnesses because of the pity they receive. In this week’s Singled Out encounter, Jesus confronts someone with a physical illness to address their spiritual illness. Gather with us as we step back to see the bigger picture that motivates Jesus not only to heal our broken bodies, but also to bring healing to our souls.
Many people who end up having faith in Jesus started with simple curiosity. Curiosity either gets dismissed or it gets our attention. This week, we will look at someone who was curious about how to get to heaven. He didn’t dismiss his curiosity, instead he singled Jesus out to ask what would be required of him to get to heaven. If you are curious how Jesus answered this question, that is just as relevant today as it was then, make plans to join us for Part Four of Singled Out.
One of the hardest situations for anyone to deal with is being rejected. What is worse is when we aren’t just rejected by one, but by many. This kind of rejection creates an outcast. Jesus our Savior didn’t go out of His way, but took the road less traveled just to have a divine appointment to rescue a rejected woman. Not only was this a surprise to her, but she surprised everyone who ever rejected her. When Jesus transforms a life, the result will be even more transformed lives. Grab your Bible, something to take notes with and join us for part three of Single Out.
Religion isn’t all it is cracked up to be. We truly don’t need more religious people or more religion. There is something far better. This weekend, we are going to see someone who was extremely religious secretly approach Jesus. He was looking for more than what his religion was offering. The answers he found have been shared ever since. Come ready to discover that the relationship Jesus came to offer, is far superior to the offerings that are found in religion.
Have you ever been singled out? While you might think of this as a negative thing, it can also be positive. To be singled out could mean being noticed, being included or even being excluded. In this series, Pastor Wil is going to walk us through several people who had a one on one encounter with Jesus. Some singled Him out, while others He singled out. Join us as we learn more about the heart of our Savior through this series. Don’t forget to invite someone to sit with you!
The Kingdom of Heaven is like…. How would you finish that sentence? How would you try to describe what it is like? Wouldn’t it be great if we could have an understanding of this and be able to tell others about it? This Sunday, Pastor Wil is finishing the series Beyond the Stories and will share several short parables Jesus used to describe what the Kingdom of Heaven is like.
Talents are God given gifts. We don’t earn them or deserve them, yet we chose if and how we will use them. Some people waste their talents, others bury their talents, some dabble with their talents and then there are those who maximize their talents. This weekend we will look beyond the story Jesus told about talents and see what was driving Him to tell this parable so everyone who hears would be motivated to make the most of their God-given talents.
Jesus shared a parable that shows how persistent prayer and persevering action will not go unnoticed by God, who is fair and loving toward His people. This Sunday, we will go over how continually doing these two practices brings a heavenly promise. If you find it challenging to bring yourself to pray, or maybe you struggle to have faith in the power of prayer, this message is for you.
This weekend, we continue to go Beyond the Stories of Jesus and identify the significance of what is at stake. In the parable of The Vineyard, Jesus once again takes the original listener on a word picture journey to speak prophecy, judgement and hope. This parable is intense and shocking. Join us as we grow our understanding of what hangs in the balance according to Jesus.
This Sunday we will continue our journey with Jesus' parables. In the book of Luke, Jesus calls us to love our neighbor. Sometimes it is harder to love our neighbor depending on who they are. Come and find out how Jesus guides us in how to love our neighbor.
