Since the beginning, the Church was meant to be a community of believers, united under one common banner - Jesus is LORD. Every believer has a story, a background, and a past. However, more importantly each follower of Christ has a future and that future includes other believers. Come Together is a series designed to challenge believers to see that God has united them under Jesus and they are a family that must share the message of Jesus both in word and deed. By focusing on a letter from nearly 2000 years ago, we will look to how the body must Come Together to enlarge God’s kingdom.

The Cross: Where the end is the beginning! If the Cross is the darkest day in all of history, then Sunday morning following that Friday was the brightest. The bodily raising of Jesus from the dead is the linchpin of all Christianity. If Jesus doesn’t raise physically from the dead, then Christianity has nothing to report. There’s simply nothing to speak about at all. However, if the resurrection is true. If the tomb is empty and Jesus lives again then the story is the key to understanding this life. Why did Jesus go to the cross? Why couldn’t God have just spoke forgiveness without such a graphic, painful way of dealing with sin? What does the Cross answer for us? These are all questions that we have when we consider the person of Jesus. From the beginning, the Cross was the key to seeing God’s love displayed. The cross points us to the truth that God’s promises will be accomplished no matter what.
