Welcome to "The Habits of God's People Part 2" bible study! In this session, we'll continue to explore the habits that characterize God's people and that help us grow in our relationship with Him. Specifically, we'll focus on the habits of speaking truthfully, controlling our anger, and showing kindness and forgiveness.
Our main text for this study is Ephesians 4:29-32, which says, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
These verses remind us of the power of our words and attitudes, and how they can either build up or tear down those around us, as well as our own relationship with God. We'll explore what it means to speak truthfully, to use our words to encourage and bless others, and to avoid negative or hurtful speech.
We'll also discuss the importance of controlling our anger, which can easily lead us to sin and damage our relationships. Instead, we'll learn how to express our emotions in a healthy and constructive way, and to seek God's help in dealing with difficult situations.
Finally, we'll look at how kindness and forgiveness are essential habits of God's people, as they reflect God's own character and enable us to grow in love and unity. We'll explore practical ways to show kindness and compassion to others, even when it's hard, and to forgive those who have hurt us, just as we have been forgiven by God through Christ.
So, join us for this inspiring and challenging bible study as we learn how to cultivate the habits of God's people and deepen our relationship with Him.
