Divine justice may be delayed, but it is never denied. When we see evil succeed and the wicked prosper, we often question if God sees or cares. The story of Abimelech in Judges 8-9 demonstrates that God's justice works according to His perfect timing. After Abimelech murdered his 70 brothers and ruled for three years, God orchestrated his downfall through a series of events. This biblical account reminds us that God sees every injustice, and His apparent silence doesn't mean absence. The cross of Jesus Christ stands as the ultimate proof that God never overlooks sin.

The story of Gideon challenges our cultural obsession with strength and self-sufficiency by showing how God intentionally reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 to just 300 men. This divine strategy ensured that Israel couldn't take credit for the victory over the Midianites. Like Gideon, we're called to embrace our limitations rather than hide them, understanding that God's power is made perfect in weakness. This principle extends to our salvation and everyday challenges, reminding us that in God's economy, weakness isn't something to be ashamed of—it's where His strength is realized.

When facing God's call, our hesitation often stems from a small view of God rather than the magnitude of the task. Gideon's journey teaches us three vital lessons about God's character: He deserves undivided loyalty and will not share His glory with idols; He is trustworthy and will protect those who obey Him; and He provides exactly what we need when we need it. God doesn't seek the strongest or bravest people—He draws near to the hesitant and uncertain, transforming them through a clearer vision of who He is. True confidence comes not from self-reliance but from knowing God's character.

God meets believers in their weakness, just as He met Gideon, providing three essential gifts: His presence, His promises, and His peace. Through difficult circumstances and trials, God's presence remains constant and more valuable than any circumstance change. Like Gideon, who moved from hiding to serving God's purpose, believers can find strength by anchoring their faith in God's promises and seeking peace through His presence rather than changed circumstances.

God's sovereignty operates beyond human expectations and limitations, as demonstrated in Judges 4. Through unlikely heroes like Deborah, Barak, and Jael, God orchestrated a remarkable victory over powerful enemies. He turned circumstances, including 900 iron chariots, into opportunities for divine intervention. This narrative reminds us that God's methods may be unexpected, but His purposes always prevail. He can use anyone, regardless of their background, and no situation is too complex for His sovereign control.

In this sermon, we explore the misconception that having an advantage—such as the Jews had with the Law and circumcision—guarantees spiritual success or salvation. Experiencing God can profoundly motivate us to share the gospel. Isaiah 6 illustrates how an encounter with God transformed Isaiah's willingness to spread His message. Despite knowing the people wouldn't listen, Isaiah's awe of God's glory drove him to say, 'Here I am, send me.' Every believer is called to be a missionary, sharing the gospel in their own context. This week, challenge yourself to trust in God's plan and share His message, even if immediate results aren't visible.

Today's message focuses on 1 Peter 1:13-25, urging us to prepare for our spiritual journey like a marathon runner. We are called to live with hope, holiness, reverent fear, and love.
