In a culture that discards commitments quickly and sways with popular trends, the quality of devotion is paramount to being a muscle Christian. 1 Timothy 2:13-14 tells us to "hold on to the pattern of sound teaching" and to "guard the treasure entrusted to us with the help of the Holy Spirit."

Submission is a painful topic in a broken world and yet the Bible directs followers of Christ to have a submissive attitude in their life and relationships. In a world filled with abuse, what is biblical submission and how is this attitude and action applied in a healthy, Christ-honoring way? To be a muscle Christian that walks in power and authority submission is necessary, even vital. 

Pastor Lynn speaks on submission--which is the gateway to authority that Jesus purchased for us on the cross. 

As Christ followers, we are called to take up our cross and follow Him!   Not a popular statement in our world of snowflakes. Nevertheless, Christians are called to mature and grow into Christlikeness. Our new sermon series will address seven key characteristics for making us muscle Christians. If our faith community is to be a muscle church, we need muscle Christians.  If we all mature in our faith, the words of the Apostle Paul to young Timothy will ring just as true today as they did when penned centuries ago:  "What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 1:13). It was the Apostle Paul who also told the young Corinthian church, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." 1 Corinthians 1:11. As muscle Christians, it is our goal for people to be able to follow our example in both our life and doctrine.

He and his wife Sandra have four children: Anthony, Cassandra, Carissa, and Crystal. Dr. Garza graduated from Bethany University and completed two Masters degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary in Theology and Missiology. His Doctoral pursuit at Fuller led him to write about bridging the "Pentecostal generational gap," which seeks to ensure a "spirit filled" empowered life for a new generation. He served as A District Youth Director before planting Third Day Worship Center in Elk Grove.

Eddie is a gifted communicator who has traveled throughout the world sharing his faith and bringing help and hope to those who are impoverished and suffering. Over more than 25 years of public speaking he has spoken to crowds numbering in the tens of thousands and to small groups.

During his career he served as a youth pastor, church planter, college campus pastor and he held a national leadership position in which he oversaw more than 300,000 junior high and high school students. He also serves as Vice President of Justice for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference.

The best thing about Eddie is his wife, Judy, and their three children: Jordyn Marie, Jessica, and Jonathan.
