Heroes. They are more than fictitious characters in movies or comic strips. They are real life people that we see every day. What can we learn from those people, and more importantly, how can we properly honor them? In this message series we’ll speak to the heroes in our homes, in our schools and in our nation - the moms, graduates and veterans that serve as heroes to us all.

We are all practical theologians. We interpret life according to our understanding of God or we develop our understanding of God based on what happens in our life. Either way, we tend to make assumptions about how life works. But what if we are operating under the wrong assumptions? The assumptions we make can have a huge influence on us for better or worse. Are you flirting with dangerous assumptions?

We’ve all boxed ourselves in. We have created a box of beliefs that we evaluate everything else by. That box can be a good thing. But what if that box is keeping us from understanding the most important realities of life? What if that box is keeping us from experiencing life, real life, the meaningful life that God intends for each of us? What is in your box? Is it keeping you from the best God has to offer?

There is a common desire within all of us to search for what matters most in life - love, acceptance, approval, worth and purpose. So where do we find these things? How do we know if we are living our lives still in search of these? How can we finally stop searching for what matters most?
