We’ll begin a mini-series called “What Christmas Makes Real." Three topics usually not talked about all that often, especially at Christmas, but once we understand them they will absolutely overwhelm us with gratitude for what God has done in coming to save us.

We are in the Gospel of Luke looking at the ministry of John the Baptist. John came as the forerunner of Jesus to deliver an important message on repentance and help us see the role it plays in each of our lives.

We continue our look at the Gospel of Luke, and this week we come across a strange story from Jesus' childhood. It is the story of Jesus getting unintentionally left by his family at the temple when he was 12. It is real "parent of the year" type stuff. However, in the strangeness of the story is a picture of Jesus' humanity.
