Jesus taught that storms come into every person’s life. Obedience to His words is like a good foundation for a house - essential to its existence. Ignoring the words of Jesus will lead to disaster.

Jesus describes another set of “impossible” standards for His disciples but gives us the answer to how this can be our life. As God changes my heart what comes out of me will be the direct result of God’s mercy and His work in transforming my heart.

Jesus lays out an “impossible” standard of living that is so radically different for the norms of society and our own instincts that is easy to not take this seriously. Let’s start with something more basic: God’s children should resemble their heavenly Father, reflecting His qualities.

The circumstances of our lives are often overwhelming. Without the resurrection of Jesus, we will be without hope and consumed by fear. Jesus is available to you, but He waits for you to believe in Him and trust Him alone for your salvation.
