Tired and hungry, Esau traded his birthright for a bowl of red soup. Esau was a man ruled by his appetites and he became defined by his craving. We also struggle with fleshly appetites, but the gospel has the power to deliver us from their power. In Christ we are not defined by our desires and urges, but by Christ and him crucified.
