  • Skye’s Journal: Entry 2
Sundel is only half human. He has this mouth on his left hand that he keeps covered, but he showed me tonight. He told me he hast to feed it. He feeds on humans. Assholes, “arse holes” as he calls them. The people that he doesn’t feel guilty taking advantage of. Mostly out of sheer curiosity, I offered to help him get his next target. A drunk that tried getting rough with us at lunch. We went back at dark and I lured him into the alley, where Sundel simply put his left hand on his back and froze him somehow. Sundel fed and I took his coin and we went back to what we were using as our home. That is where I sit now. He mentioned going to Bleakburn, a small mining town a couple hours from Oar’s Rest. Funny, the drunk has a house there. Maybe I could stay there a while with Sundel, keep an eye on him. Keep him out of trouble. I need to learn more about this magic I have been given.

  • Skye’s Journal: Entry 1
Well, I’m not dead. I had no Intention to come out of Zane’s keep alive or in one piece, yet here I am. Sitting in a dilapidated house with a socially awkward 16-year-old boy explaining to him what dilapidated means. I don’t know where I will go from here, but I know that I cannot look Edmond or Selena in the eyes after what I’ve done. I have said my goodbyes to them both and I won’t go back, no matter how much I miss them already. The kids name is Sundel, he gave me a place to stay, regardless the condition of the building. He’s kind. The least I can do is buy him a nice meal and some new clothes in Oar’s Rest tomorrow. God, I miss Alaina.
