One correction from the sermon—

At one point Pastor Jeremy said “too often we have started reading the Bible at Genesis 3 and and ended at Genesis 20…” He intended to say “…Genesis 3 and…Revelation 20.” His point was that to truly understand any story, much less the story of salvation history, requires seeing the big picture from beginning to end. We have too often thought of salvation history beginning with the Fall (Genesis 3) and ending in Judgment (Genesis 20). But salvation history begins with Creation and Gift (Genesis 1-2) and ends with New Creation and Grace (Revelation 21-22). The bookends the Bible, its origin and end, hold it together in a way that enables us to understand what was lost at the Fall and what will be restored through Judgment, so to understand the parts, they must be held together from beginning to end as a whole!

Indeed: “He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen” (Rev. 22:20-21).
