Main Point:  When in the cave, in the midst of fear and temptation God brings perspective, mercy and opportunity.

In every trial, hold fast to God’s Word through prayer, knowing that Christ holds you steady and provides the strength you need to keep going when you are weak.

Because The Lord does not change and His word is true, He prepares and transforms me for what is up ahead.

The hope of the gospel is not that God preserves the strong, but that Christ lovingly secures and directs His people even in their weakness. We are called to stop resting our security in our own strength and trust Christ to lovingly lead, preserve, and hold His people secure even in our weakness.

Every form of security outside of Christ will crumble. Therefore, place your whole life into the hands of Jesus Christ, because only He will hold you fast, forgive you fully, and carry you safely into your future.

When anguish and distress intensifies, God calls us to stop looking for safety in what we can control, and to take refuge in Christ (psalm 59) —trusting Him to preserve you against every threat.
