“This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.” This verse does not just reference Sunday morning… it’s applicable to Monday, too, and every other day. Even those days where your world is falling apart deserve to be appreciated as days that God has given us.

Everyone deals with grief at times. In some seasons of life, grief seems to be a constant companion. But take heart - God is always there in our time of greatest need. His word can also be our comfort and this week, Pastor Dennis shares several Biblical strategies to coping with grief. Listen in and find comfort in the arms of your loving, heavenly Father.

We need the Spirit of God in our mouth to control our words, in our eyes and ears to control what comes into our minds, in our hands and feed to control our actions and to do works for God. Yield your spirit to the Holy Spirit, be filled with it and take advantage of the comfort, and the power that God makes available to us.

The job of a watchman is to watch over the walls and keep the safety of the people. The watchmen must have a love for the people. The watchmen must proclaim what he sees, even if it’s not what people want to hear. They cannot be silent or the blood of the people will be on the hands of the watchmen. Jeremiah saw a boiling pot - Babylon on the border that would bring judgment on the people of Israel. And the pot is boiling again - there are threats against our nation and unrest within. We have disregarded the commandments of God and the boiling pot is God preparing something. We don't know what it will be, but it will be something to wake people up.

The day of casual Christianity is over.

Every Christian has been appointed as a watchman. When we are watchmen, it is our responsibility to warn the people of the coming judgment. We can’t make them heed the warning - we are not called to force them to change, but we are called to alert them. It is an eternal life and death situation for both the watchmen and for the lost.

You are probably familiar with Solomon’s “times” in Ecclesiastes 3: a time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, a time to pluck up what is planted… There are also “times” for the church today: a time to worship, a time to testify, a time to evangelize, a time to gather, a time to stay the course, a time to change, a time to pray… and a time to get serious. When you are hungry, you just want to eat and get full! There are a lot of ways to fill up, especially in America where there is food on every corner - but many of those options are just junk that satisfies for a moment and then leaves you with regret later.

In today’s message, Pastor Dennis talks about filling our hungry souls. Just like filling your body, there are good and bad options for fulfillment of the soul. If we will choose to desire higher things and seek God, we can be filled in a way that is so satisfying, we will never hunger again!

Jesus rocked the disciples world by telling them, “I’m going to die. I’m going to be taken away from you.” Jesus had been their comforter and their provider and they were not ready for this. But it was their time to take up the gauntlet and carry the church forward.

““Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

God has made us a path where we can follow Him. It is a path that the enemy cannot enter. Because we know Jesus, we can hear His voice and find Him in the midst of life's trials.

It only takes a pinch of yeast to make an entire loaf of bread dough rise. The Apostle Paul used yeast, or leaven, as a metaphor for sin - it only takes a small amount of compromise to destroy a person or even an entire church congregation.

In this message, Pastor Dennis reminds us of the danger of sin, but he more importantly points out the encouragement that comes from knowing that there is a way of escape from sin. When we turn our lives over to God, we become a new creation and we can leave our old life behind - that includes the guilt and shame we once bore for the sins of our past!

Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus to a life of abundance where every pleasure sin once gave you is replaced a thousandfold with the peace of God!

Life can be tough. At times we feel like we are trudging through a spiritual, physical, or emotional experience that feels like being lost in the middle of a hopeless desert. Racked with exhaustion, with anxiety, we hear the voice of God.

"I will turn your desert into a place where flowers can grow. Take courage, fear not. I will save you."
