Stewardship might be a topic many would rather not tackle, but everyone needs to since we all need Jesus as Lord of every area of our life. Stewardship deals with our time, talent, treasure, and testimony. The hardest of the four for many to hand over to God is their treasure or money. This is unfortunate since not having the money thing right is a strong indicator that you don't have the heart thing right. When we look at giving, in any area of our life, we are not genuinely giving to a church but ultimately to God. In fact, we all have a need to give, and how and where we give is determined by who or what has first place in our life. What we put first in life matters. If we choose to put God first in our living and giving, we will live fuller lives, touch more lives, and reach a greater number of people with the love and message of Jesus Christ. In this series, we discover how life works as intended by God when we put Him first.

The Sermon on the Mount is not merely a philosophical statement meant to tickle the mind. Jesus told it to be obeyed. It is a beautiful picture of how Christians are to practically live their lives. When the church lives by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit in alignment with this sermon of Christ, they are the genuine witness He intends them to be, living the abundant joy-filled life and offering the world an authentic, life-giving alternative to what culture provides. Oswald Chambers rightly furnishes this insight, "The Sermon on the Mount is not a set of principles to be obeyed apart from identification with Jesus Christ. The Sermon on the Mount is a statement of the life we will live when the Holy Spirit is getting his way with us.” In our second part of or Sermon on the Mount series, Kingdom Living, Vol. 2, we will examine and learn from the Sermon on the Mount as recorded in Matthew 5 – 6:7 – 7:29. It will prove to be a dynamic journey. Suppose one determines to keep in the step with the Spirit. In that case, it will not only lead to a better understanding of how a believer ought to live, but also the ability to experience the power, peace, and joy God offers to those who truly receive Christ as Savior and Lord.
