Living in South Florida for close to 13 years now, I have met some incredible people with some amazing stories. On todays podcast I had the chance to speak with local artist, Cruise Bogle. We were connected by a mutual friend and while I had heard about Cruise and his story through the community and local charity events It was amazing to hear his story firsthand and what he's been up to. 

In 2008, Cruise returned home to Delray Beach from college and was enjoying the beach life with his friends. In a crazy skim boarding accident, Cruise fell backwards and hit his head hard on the sand which paralyzed him from the shoulders down. In a split second his life changed  in where he would relearn skills through intensive rehab, working with the Shepherd Center to regain strength in certain areas to return home and live life. 

His passion for creating art has always been of interest and he began painting seascapes and other art with the use of his mouth. He's interested in building a massive portfolio in which he can express himself creatively though his art. His father recently adapted a way for him to paint using a spray paint gas mask to create other versions of art.  Another medium is splatter art in which he can design different shoes, shirts and or canvases with a multitude of color by running over tubes of paint with the wheel of his chair.  His newest passion, however is on the tech side and creating NFTs called the Curious Creature Collective which would be the first ever physically mouth painted generative NFT project in history. It launches April 4th, 2022.

Cruise opened up about how the pandemic changed everything for him and allowed him to focus on himself. We chatted about "toxic positivity",  true honest communication with those around you, breathing and appreciating the day for what It is, prioritizing mental health, being a sex symbol, practicing kindness to all who you meet and avoiding being a jackass.
