Ben Himmelfarb grew up listening to Woody Guthrie, Buddy Holly, and Elvis. When he was 12, he heard The Band and knew he had to play music. As a teenager, Ben studied with local guitar players and songwriters and spent countless hours learning by playing along with records. The roots of Ben's music lie in folk, country, blues, and soul. However through exposure to diverse styles of playing, from jazz to Indian music, he developed a dexterous guitar style that works in many settings. He has been in rock groups, reggae bands, and played guitar with a gospel choir. During the past few years, Ben has focused on his songwriting and learning to play mandolin and lap steel. Recently he played with Tor and the Fjords and Brenda Fisher, two Capital Region musicians. Ben's first full-length solo album of original material, Little Bridge, comes out on June 21st and will be available on CD and digital download. Little Bridge was produced by Mitch Elrod, who has known Ben for ten years and exerted a strong influence on his musical development. Ben is looking forward to playing more gigs and continuing to collaborate with other local musicians.

Bill has a shared interest in supporting the local music scene and is considering starting a collective of local musicians. He wanted to see what goes into creating a CRUMBS Cafe radio show to potentially help him develop a video podcast of local musicians from Pittsburgh.

From there he went on to delivering live performances on stage. To his surprise and delight, sometimes it was in front of a packed house. There then came that moment when he transformed from experimental artist to a musician with a message that contained a real and intense meaning. He created the AXA project "Images at Sunfall" and continued to compose and write in other genres, developing new sounds along the way. He emerged almost a year later with the Prelude to Sunfall EP completed and two new projects; the ambient "Tones and Shadows", and the electronic/dance music of Amphibicopter.

He began experimenting with the visual arts to add a new element to his original music and sound architecture projects. His evolution as a visual artist continued over time as he worked extensively with his wife, a professional photographer, in both the commercial and fine art fields. He added new visual elements to his work when he shot and designed the original artwork for his company, Sunfall Records, and created a mix of music videos, short films and commercial productions for both Bill and professional clients.
