On this week's episode of the "Cry About It" podcast we welcome Mike Henneberger, the author of "Rock Bottom at the Renaissance: An Emo Kid's Journey Through Falling In and Out of Love In and With New York City." The book is the perfect read for anyone that grew up in the emo and pop-punk scene. Mike's journey has been interesting from punk rock musician to working for Comedy Central, Vice, Rolling Stone, and Billboard. He's even won an Emmy award! We talk through the music that has influenced us, his book, and the journey that led to its creation.
On this week's episode of the "Cry About It" podcast we speak with Randy Frobel, the lead singer of We Were Sharks. The band has a new album coming out in May, just dropped a video for their song "Problems," and is one of the hyped pop-punk bands in the world right now. We talk about touring, what the band has to come and we both even fan-boy about the Punk Rock MBA a bit. Enjoy!

Michelle Dzuida grew up in the heart of the New Jersey music scene, hailing from the same hometown as Saves the Day. She began visiting Philadelphia often for concerts and eventually discovered the city's emo night scene. She quickly became part of the community, making friends and eventually meeting her current boyfriend. In 2018, she moved to the city and dove headfirst into the music scene. She's also a huge fan of Taking Back Sunday, especially their later catalog. We dive into that extensively.

On episode 4 of the "Cry About It" podcast, it was my pleasure to speak with Neil Rubenstein. I've known Neil through the music industry for years. We worked together when he booked bands like The Sleeping, John Nolan of Taking Back Sunday, Michele Nolan of Straylight Run and many other great acts. You might also recognize his name from the liner notes on Taking Back Sunday and Brand New records. If you're too young to have bought a physical copy you'll recognize his screams from various songs on Taking Back Sunday's "Tell All Your Friends" album. He was also the frontman of This Year's Model, Sons of Abraham and These Enzymes. Neil is now a hilarious comedian who travels the country bringing laughs to the masses with the same DIY ethic he learned in punk rock. He also has been going viral on Youtube and Tiktok and hosts a mental health podcast.
