  • Ep. 17 | Coinrail hack, Bitcoin price manipulation, Binance EURO pairs, ETH Classic on Coinbase

If you enjoy the show head on over to www.patreon.com/cryptoweekly and show us some love - we will love you forever. This week the markets made us all question our initial decisions to get into this world, but hopefully Crypto Weekly will give you a shining beacon of hope in this tough time. The New York Times suggested this downturn could be because some University of Texas researchers found evidence of price manipulation in the bitcoin and ethereum markets. We discuss what effect this might have had and how reliable this research paper is. Coinbase surprised many by announcing that they would be including Ethereum Classic in their current cryptocurrency offerings - including within their index fund. Is this really a big deal? Binance repeats the old news that they are intending to offer EURO and GBP pairs with some cryptocurrencies. Coinrail is hacked! What exactly does this mean and how did this happen? Crypto Weekly are on hand to explain all. Ken's Coin of the Week turn safety conscious this week with safe guard token getting a look over. Obviously Beak is not impressed whatsoever. We finish up with Beak's Coin of the Week, a Patreon giveaway and an off the cuff debate between the Prince and Beak. Altogether another prime episode of Crypto Weekly to keep you satisfied for another week.

  • Ep. 16 | Coinbase in Japan, EOS mainnet stutters, Binance $1b fund, Crypto > Visa?

Crypto Weekly Episode 16 has dropped! If you enjoy our fresh crypto updates then head on over to www.patreon.com/cryptoweekly and get involved with the high iq listeners that like to reap the rewards we offer for those that support the show. This week VISA went down across Europe and caused some to speculate where we would be in a world of decentralised payments with crypto. The Crypto Weekly team give this a ponder and share their discussion to the world. Coinbase announced plans to expand into Japan creating an onslaught of memes telling Japanese citizens to be ready for trash tier customer service. Does anybody care? Binance soars even further in our estimations as they announce a $1 billion fund for decentralised projects that will benefit the crypto space as a whole. How much of a big deal is this? Why have so many exchanges come out recently announcing their own fund? We cover the mess that has been the EOS mainnet release thus far. Can we expect things to go smoother in the future? Is this really what one should be seeing from a project with $4 billion in the bank? Ken’s Coin of the Week returns to its roots - adult themed coins. This week get shilled on the wonder that is WankCoin and why you absolutely should be holding it. (Spoiler alert, you should not be). Beak wallows in the success of his previous coin picks and gives us another prime candidate for huge gains this week. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. That gives us an episode of Crypto Weekly, you’re welcome!

Your bitcoin, ethereum and cryptocurrency news from the week boiled into the greatest podcast available! This week we take a long hard look at the EOS vulnerabilities that were found by Chinese security firm 360 that have caused the mainnet release to be delayed. Is this legitimate last minute software bugs or should we expect better from the year long ICO? Verge has potentially been 51% attacked again. If this turns out to be true, what hope is left for Dogecoin dark? South Korea turns up the heat on legalising ICOs in the country again as they get increasingly concerned that they are falling behind in the worldwide economic race for blockchain technology. Finally, the crypto weekly team go full speculation mode to piece together if Ether has been confirmed as a commodity by the US federal government. Spoiler alert, it has not but we are all still very confident that it will not be classed as a security. Ken shills us ‘DateCoin’ this week in Ken’s Coin of the Week. A currency specifically for use on a Russian dating app - supposedly run by the CEO of the largest dating services company in Russia. Will this be an asset to the Ken Dex or a hindrance? Beak delivers us another of his pick’s for the week and we finish with a Patreon giveaway to end all Patreon giveaways. You are most welcome for the greatest podcast in cryptocurrency history!

  • Ep. 13 | Consenus overview, NSA and Bitcoin, Vitalik helps EOS, Facebook enters cryptocurrency

Jam packed and bigger than ever, Crypto Weekly returns for Episode 13. If you enjoy the show please consider showing us some love over at www.patreon.com/cryptoweekly for exclusive content, live Q & A's and generally for the warm fuzzy feeling it brings knowing that you're helping us eat. The main news this week is that of course Consensus is upon us. At the time of recording it was wrapping up and so the Crypto Weekly gang give a rundown of what actually went on this year and why the markets are getting wrecked. Vitalik confirms he is a total bro and more than we deserve as he helps EOS sort out their consensus issues, even though they take every opportunity to FUD him. The NSA can neither confirm nor deny that they had anything to do with the creation of Bitcoin; could Roberto Escobar have been right all along? Is Diet Bitcoin the real deal?! Facebook announced that they would be exploring the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, most likely in an attempt to divert everyone's attention away from them selling their data. Crypto Weekly discuss what medium this could potentially take. Ethereum futures are announced and much much more top tier analysis in this week's news. Ken's Coin of the Week takes a look at Anime Coin - selling sweet anime art on the blockchain within a decentralized marketplace as users can finally rest safe in the knowledge that their favourite artists are being rewarded for their brilliance. Crypto Beak makes some bold claims in this week's Beak's Coin of the Week in a desperate attempt to outperform the Ken Index. Will he achieve his dream? Burns unit is welcomed back as Crypto Weekly receives some prime hate material and a deflated Horse Watch brings us to a close. All this and more in Episode 13 of Crypto Weekly!

  • Ep. 12 | ETH not a security, Ripple in hot water, ICOs back in South Korea and Munger hates Bitcoin

Jam packed and entertaining as ever, this episode crosses the line from dangerously close to genuinely educational. If you like the show then please do show us some love at www.patreon.com/cryptoweekly The Wall Street Journal masterful convinced us all that the SEC would rule on Ethereum's security status once and for all, only for the FUD to be found out at the final hour. This week the Ethereal summit kicks off, we take a look at what positives might come out of the event in NYC. Charlie Munger provided some sterling quote material when asked about Bitcoin; likening trading Bitcoin to trading baby brains. NYSE seem to be happy to trade in such an 'immoral' cryptocurrency though as plans emerge to add the crypto to their exchange in the wake of the comments from the NASDAQ last week. Finally, ICOs could be making a swift return to South Korea after famously being banned last year. Ken's Coin this week takes a look at the little known esports betting and skin trading industry as SkinCoin aims to provide a currency token specifically for this market. Beak's Bags get a freshen up this week with the transformation into Beak's Coin of the week. Each week the greatest mind in crypto will bestow upon us his potential picks for the week - we can only assume they will pale in comparison to the Ken Index as championed last week by Geordie P. Geordie Prince runs us through another BigBrained Twitter poll and Horse Watch closes us as discussion moves towards the methods used by the development team in seeding the races.

  • Ep. 11 | Buffett on Bitcoin, Binance eclipsing Deutsche, Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin?

Crypto Weekly returns with your weekly cryptocurrency news installment and as always, NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. If you like the podcast then why not support us through our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/cryptoweekly This week in the news: Warren Buffett throws shade at crypto investors as he says that purchasing Bitcoin is not investing. Binance reports profits for Q1 far in excess of those provided by institutional powerhouse Deutsche Bank - if only there had been someone around to tell you to buy BNB when it was cheap... Bitcoin Cash has been irking many this week by shadily trying to market itself as the true Bitcoin online - potentially tricking people into purchasing it instead of BTC. Ripple also received some media coverage as they obtained five new payment partners. Ken's Coin of the Week sees the introduction of the all new 'Ken Index', managed by Geordie Prince. Find out how Ken's previous coin picks fare against the S & P week in, week out. Can you really just buy total rubbish and make money in crypto? Beak once again runs through his bags to show us what moves he is making. This week sees an in depth look into what he is looking to hold for the rest of 2018. Of course, this is not financial advice. Horse Watch closes us, find out how your favourite equine based dApp is coming along.

  • Ep. 10 | ERC20 and MEW hacks, cryptocurrencies fail the currency test, Vitalik bashes TRON

Crypto Weekly once again returns - another week, another plethora of cryptocurrency news to wade through. This week Crypto Weekly launched their Patreon page, check it out at https://www.patreon.com/cryptoweekly and show the gang some love. They know you've made a bucket load from their musings, so give a little back. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. This week the biggest news saw an exploit uncovered in ERC20 tokens that enabled the illegitimate minting of coins. Not only this but MyEtherWallet (MEW) was the subject of a rather well executed hack of the AWS DNS route53 service. The Geordie Prince gets fired up about some American legislation of crypto and the gang collectively bash the soon to be head of the New York Federal reserve. In other news Vitalik continues to keep it incredibly real by notifying the world that a whole lot of the trash we see in the form of ERC20 tokens are in fact trash - especially TRON. Ken's Coin of the Week scrutinises CellBlocks - a means of using the blockchain to make the economies of prisons less exploitative. Find out for yourself what the consensus was. Beak continues to make gains and gives us a run down of some of the best picks for the next quarter of 2018. If you don't listen to what he has to say it's almost as if you hate free money NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE. Finally we end as always with Horse Watch. Crypto Weekly try and come up with a few suggestions as to how horse can improve uptake of their dApp. If you yourself have any ideas, feel free to throw them a tweet @EthorseTeam
