There are moments in life where one has pause to reflect on their beginnings, and the journey that has taken them along the road of time to their current state. In these times of reflection, one begins to see patterns: shapes in the ripples of reality that they have passed through, and been shaped by in turn. It is these patterns which we are invited to dwell upon today, in this episode of Cthulhu on Parade.

Fundamental questions about life are answered: What -is- a positive or negative outcome to a scene? Can unlawful acts be ethical? Is there life beyond our own in the universe that will show up in the story, or will it merely be mentioned as a possibility and then never brought back in any way, much like several other threads? Finally, how far can "no jokes in this episode" be stretched? PS: No jokes in this episode, which is also code for kinda low-energy.

Today, we meditate on the topic of crime and punishment, as a pair of reluctant new heroes embark on a journey into the seedy underworld of Arkham's black market literature scene. Will their courage and strength of character be sufficient to hold them afloat in the waves of corruption? Also, a series of calls are made. Calls... to adventure!

This scenario is Vengeance From Beyond, from the scenario book Monophobia, although we cover very little of what's supposed to happen there, but it's worth including. I tried not to read from the book for the whole thing! Although I've already read the scenarios before, and they're pretty great. Anyway, Stephen edited this episode, as you may hear. Goodbye!

Don't forget your old acquaintance this new year's! Yes, Cthulhu on Parade has graced your ears once more with its bountiful presence thanks to the mysteries and majesties of editor extraordinaire Stephen. Indeed, this episode has a long and storied history, in that it happened a long time ago and I haven't listened to it so I forgot what happens.

Basically we played this game Killsplosion (Available from: http://killsplosion.roleplayingpublicradio.com) and I didn't really know all the rules to it but LET ME TELL YOU: it was pretty okay, I think? I forget. Probably we said horrible things. Probably it should have stayed buried. But, like those earth eaters from the Hobbit movie, IT EMERGED. And now, also like the Hobbit movie, it is here to take up hours upon hours of your time, but with less characters. I think I remember it having some okay action scenes. Honestly I forget! I will listen to it later. Maybe you should too!

RIP 2014.

To celebrate the announcement of the all-new iPhone 6, part of this episode was performed on multiple mobile devices! After some inflammatory movie discussion (including some disses on an X-Men movie that I no longer feel that strongly about) and a little on then-current affairs we had a good old game of the Town & Gown playset, which uh... Is mostly about characters from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air? I don't know, really. I can't tell you how to think about this episode. You'll have to make up your own mind by listening to it.
