Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday.

These are challenging times and we now enter Holy Week. It will feel different this time. However, our experiences will be deeper and more meaningful than we can imagine this time.

Why palms? Palms are known to represent peace and victory! And we need peace and victory in these challenging times! ‘Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.’

Fr. Chris' sermon is based on our Gospel reading, John 3:1-16. A Pharisee by the name of Nicodemus has come, at night, to ask Jesus a number of questions.

Fr. Mark begins his sermon with a children's message and discusses the things we substitute for God.

Temptations and Transformation

Our Gospel reading this 1st Sunday in Lent, is always Matthew 4: 1-11. In fact, as Fr. Mark points out, millions of Christians all over the world would have read this passage on Sunday. It is the journey of Christ's temptations in the wilderness and conquering it! However, as Fr. Mark says, because it is a story about Jesus, it is also about us.

This Sunday, we continued our Epiphany sermon series with our invitation from God to believe. Since Fr. Chris and Fr. Mark are in Israel...we will had a special guest priest, Fr. Mobley from Brownwood.

Fr. Mobley began his sermon with a story about a special relationship between a father and son. He then transitions his sermon to this Sunday's Gospel reading, John 1:29-42. Fr. Mobley focuses on three parts of this Sunday's Gospel:

“What are you seeking?” "Where are you staying?” and “Come and you will see.”
