  • "T.I.P.S." for CU at Arizona - A Review of CU's win over San Diego State

    Send a text

The Buffs gained bowl eligibility for the first time in four years, downing San Diego State, 20-10, in Boulder. Linebacker Nate Landman secured both Pac-12 and National Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors for his 11 tackle, three-sack effort, as the Buff defense held the Aztecs to 157 yards of total offense.

Stuart and Brad take a look back at CU's third straight victory, before turning their attention to CU's road trip to Arizona. The Buffs opened as 3.5-point favorites against the Wildcats, but, after going through their "T.I.P.S." for the game, that number may be a bit low ... see if you agree.

  • "T.I.P.S." for CU at Stanford - A Review of CU's Win over UCLA

    Send a text

The Buffs opened the Karl Dorrell era at Colorado with a 48-42 victory over UCLA. Unlikely heroes were found in quarterback Sam Noyer and Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week Jarek Broussard, as the Buffs built a 35-7 second quarter lead before hanging on in the second half. Stuart and Brad discuss what we learned and who were the unsung heroes. They then move on to the preview of the CU game at Stanford, your "T.I.P.S." - Talent, Intangibles, Preparation, and Statistics - for CU's first road game of the 2020 season.

And they said it would never happen!
No, I'm not talking about Sam Noyer being named CU's starting quarterback (though that was a surprise). Instead, I'm talking about CU getting to play football in 2020. The season opener against UCLA is set for Saturday, November 7th (5:00 p.m., MT, ESPN2). With this episode, Stuart and Brad preview the Pac-12 in general before taking a deep dive into the CU/UCLA matchup. Will the CU defense be able to handle the UCLA offense? Will the new Buff offense be able to exploit the weaknesses of the Bruin defense? There's only one way to find out ...

  • On the Defensive - A unit-by-unit look at the defense as CU looks to Improve in 2020

    Send a text

Colorado ranked 96th nationally in scoring defense in 2019; 104th in total defense. The Buffs have seven returning starters ... will the Buffs make substantial strides in Year Two under Tyson Summers? The Buffs return all three starters along the defensive line - will Mustafa Johnson make a name for himself? All-Pac-12 linebacker Nate Landman had double the number of tackles of any other Buff in 2019 - will he get more support this fall? The Buffs are very young (but talented) in the defensive backfield - who will emerge as this year's star?

Who will be picking up the slack in the receiver corps? Will Alex Fontenot and Jaren Mangham continue to develop at running back? What will the recrafted offensive line look like this fall? • CU's Revised Schedule 3.0: Buffs get a break ... but will the new staff have enough practice time to get the team ready to play?

    Send a text

From 12-games to 10-games to seven-games, CU's 2020 schedule is finally in place. Stuart and Brad discuss how the newest schedule worked out for the Buffs (spoiler alert: As well as could be expected). We also talk about the practice restrictions placed upon CU by Boulder County and its effect on the Buffs' ability to prepare for the season. We then finish up talking about how the Pac-12, in ending up with a shortened schedule, may actually have a leg up on getting a Playoff berth (thank you, Big 12, for imploding so quickly this fall!).

  • CU at the Game Mailbag - August, 2020

    Send a text

This should be the start of "Game Week" for the 2020 opener against CSU. Since we don't get to discuss the relative strengths and weaknesses of the Rams' defensive backfield, we've opened up the mailbag for questions. Stuart and Brad will take a look at the status of the CU Recruiting Class of 2021, discuss the relative merits of some of the spring schedule options which are being proposed, and talk about whether the Pac-12 acted too quickly in postponing the fall sports calendar.
