  • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 1008: Furious (1984)

Do You Believe in Magic? Season 10 wraps up with underground cult classic Furious! Martial arts heroes battle aliens from the Astral Plane for control of the universe (at least according to the summary we found online).

A woman is chased and murdered by white guys dressed in Mongol-like attire. The female’s brother, Simon (Simon Rhee), a martial arts teacher who lives in a shack near a martial arts school, sets out to avenge her death. Under the guidance of his master (Phillip Rhee), Simon’s search for revenge turns into a spiritual quest filled with mystery, deception, and above all, action!

Also included: Evil magicians who shoot chickens out of their hands; people transforming into talking pigs; martial arts masters flying around like Superman; soldiers dressed up like members of the band Devo; opponents turning into giant, fire-breathing dragons; and a subplot of how an alien race turns humans into chickens to lower food costs for their chain of restaurants.

Those are all real things that happen in this movie! As far as we can tell!

  • WTMusic: Flo V. Schwarz – Silent No More
Pyogenesis' singer, guitarist and founder, the ultra talented Flo V. Schwarz, is We Talk Music's latest guest, and we couldn't be happier.

One of the founding fathers of gothic metal, Pyogenesis's discography has spanned a wife variety of musical genres. As led by Flo V. Schwarz, they've evolved from death metal, to alternative rock, to pop punk over the years.

The one and only Flo V. Schwarz.

Now back with their newest album, A Silent Soul Screams Loudly, the band has completed their Steampunk inspired trilogy with an Avant-garde / melodic metal sound. It's a perfect complement to the other two albums of the trilogy, A Century in the Curse of Time and A Kingdom to Disappear.

Many topics are discussed during the interview, including:

    * How the new album is a compliment but also stands alone from the other two parts of the trilogy
    * The writing process of Flo V. Schwarz
    * How the label he created, Hamburg Records, has evolved into handling talent
    * What the success of Hamburg Records allows him to do with regards to Pyogenesis and his philosophy for the company
    * Giving everything you got with the singing and how taxing that is
    * Tour plans and how they relate to A Silent Soul Screams Loudly

And that's just part of what we cover, there's also:

    * What musical genres Pyogenesis may pursue in the future
    * Where he suggests a new listener should start if checking out the band's discography
    * What kind of control he can and can't take in the making of the music videos
    * The story behind how Lord of the Lost's Chris Harms came to do a duet with Flo on Modern Prometheus
    * The influence listening to Iron Maiden's Somewhere in Time had on him, and how he wanted the album cover of A Silent Soul Screams Loudly to have a similar effect
    * Flo's reasoning behind why no live Pyogenesis will ever exist

Our many thanks go to Flo V. Schwarz for his generous time spent with us, and be on the look out for much more We Talk Music coming your way soon.

  • WTMusic: Mario Lochert – Serious to a Point
Hey yo, it's Mario Lochert on the newest episode of We Talk Music. And he's on the air and in your ear with your hosts Mo and the King of the Casters, Mr. Brett Podcast.

Mario Lochert is the bassist and founder of the German power metal band Serious Black, who's new studio album, Suite 226, is out now and available everywhere.

This is a lot of fun as Mario has a sly sense of humor that caught your normally adaptable hosts way off guard. Take a listen to hear that as well as other topics such as:

    * The theme of mental health that the songs of Suite 226 address
    * Which songs are outliers to that album theme
    * The toll writing and singing the lyrics took on vocalist Urban Breed
    * Urban Breed's charisma
    * Tour and set list plans
    * How the very cool When the Stars are Right music video came together
    * Keeping it light even when you are Serious Black
    * The Heavy Metal scene in Germany and the rest of Europe
    * Looking back at the acoustic album First Light

All this, plus the strange Case of Mario Lochert's  age. This podcast is a good one folks, and that's a promise from We Talk Music to you.
