  • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 308: Frankenhooker

Awoooo! It’s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre season finale! And what better way to end the season than with a visit from the wackiest prostitute this side of the boroughs, it’s Frankenhooker!

Welcome back for more Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo. Your five hosts continue their search for the ultimate B-Movie.

In New Jersey, Jeffrey is a talented inventor in love with his bride-to-be Elizabeth. During a barbecue to celebrate the birthday of Elizabeth’s father, she activates a remote controlled lawnmower that Jeffrey built for his father-in-law. However she stays in front of the device and her body is cut into pieces. Jeffrey studies how to bring Elizabeth back to life and realizes that he will need body parts. He drives to New York to get the necessary parts from prostitutes but his experiment loses control and he blows-up several women with exploding crack cocaine he developed on the side. Now he has the necessary parts to build his fiancée back, but when Elizabeth flees from his laboratory, Jeffrey has problems with the pimp Zorro who lost his girls to the sabotaged crack.

After a loooong buildup, it’s time for Frankenhooker to take the stage! And she has a lot of business to take care of, and a lot of Johns to service… or decapitate…. or both!

  • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 306: Frankenstein Conquers the World

Awoooo! It’s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre! It’s Frankenstein vs Baragon in this Toho entry into the Boogaloo family! But we like the original title, Frankenstein Conquers the World!

Welcome back for more Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo. Your five hosts continue their search for the ultimate B-Movie.

During WWII, a human heart taken from Dr. Frankenstein’s lab is kept in a Japanese lab, where it gets exposed to the radiation of the bombing of Hiroshima. The heart grows in size, mutates, and sprouts appendages, and eventually grows into a complete body and escapes. Decades later, a feral boy with a certain physical deformity (a large head with a flat top) is captured by scientists who refer to the boy as Frankenstein. The creature grows to the height of 20 feet, escapes again, fights police and army, and is practically indestructible. Later, the reptilian kaiju Baragon goes on a rampage. Eventually the Frankenstein creature and Baragon face off in a terrible battle.

This is a wild ride and our fearless hosts are there to try to unpack the crazy! The episode derails a bit when Jack and Jim discover there is an alternate ending featuring a giant octopus and have to immediately track it down.

  • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 305: The Monster Squad

Awoooo! It’s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre! You know who to call when you have ghosts, but who do you call when you have monsters? The Monster Squad of course!

Welcome back for more Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo. Your five hosts continue their search for the ultimate B-Movie.

One hundred years before this story begins… it was a time of darkness in Transylvania… A time when Dr. Abraham Van Helsing… and a small band of freedom fighters… conspired to rid the world of vampires and monsters… and to save mankind from the forces of eternal evil… They blew it. A century later, young kids form a club that is devoted to monsters, but soon get more than they bargained for when Count Dracula returns, accompanied by Frankenstein’s Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Gillman. The uglies are in search of a powerful amulet that will grant them power to rule the world. Our heroes – the Monster Squad are the only ones daring to stand in their way.

A loving tribute to the Universal Monsters, The Monster Squad features all the greats including the Gillman, who doesn’t get enough film appearances for our hosts’ liking. A gentler sort of horror to mix with the silly and the scary of this season of KFEB.

As always, the KFEB hosts provide ratings for the films that are based on the fun, enjoyment, and craziness of the film. These scores will be tabulated and an on-going grid will keep you up to date with the search.

  • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 304: Frankenstein Island

Awoooo! It’s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre! This episode dives deep into the wilds of 1981’s Frankenstein Island, which features horror great John Carradine in his most heady role yet.

Welcome back for more Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo. Your five hosts continue their search for the ultimate B-Movie.

When a hot-air balloon crashes on a remote island, the crew discovers Dr. Frankenstein’s ancestor carrying on the family work, along with a race of mutants and a population of Amazons.

Wait, that can’t be right!? Yes, yes it is. That’s the real plot of this wild ride that starts with stock footage of hot air balloons, has John Carradine’s floating head spouting non-sequitors int he middle, and ends on the laughter of good friends who have just watched the deaths of dozens of people.

And wait until you meet the Frankenstein family! And wait until you meet the monster! Seriously, get ready for a wait on that second one because it takes for!ever! for the creature to turn up in this one. This film also stars one of the Saints of Boogaloo – Cameron Mitchell! • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 302/303: Dracula versus Frankenstein & Tale of the Mummy

Awoooo! It’s Monster Chiller Horror Theatre! The curse of the Mummy has struck Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo! After recording two full episodes, we found the tapes blank! With Stan and Brad off trying to free KFEB from this ancient evil, Jim, Jack, and Nick jump in to record a quick overview of the lost reviews.

In their search for the ultimate B-Movie, KFEB looks at Dracula versus Frankenstein (1971) and Tale of the Mummy (1998). Also there is some talk about the other two (!) films called Dracula versus Frankenstein that were released within a space of only three years.

In Dracula versus Frankenstein, Judith Fontaine (Regina Carrol) is looking for her sister Joanie, who has disappeared into the hippie community of Venice, California. It turns out Joanie has become the victim of Groton (Lon Chaney Jr.), an axe-wielding homicidal maniac working for Dr. Durray (J. Carrol Naish), who is really the last of the Frankensteins and is now running a house of horrors by the beach and is performing experiments on Gorton’s victims.

Meanwhile, in Tale of the Mummy, an archaeologist crew, headed by Prof. Turkel (Christopher Lee) discovers the tomb of Talos in Egypt, once a sinister and horrific prince during the reign of the pharaohs. They realize too late that they are releasing a gruesome and evil force, but Turkel manages to seal the tomb by blowing up his party. Decades later his granddaughter Sam follows her grandfathers footsteps and leads an expedition to find out what really happened. They discover the tomb and after some disturbing incidents, head back to London. At the time when a prestigious exhibition on Talos opens in the national museum, London is terrorized by mysterious murders, investigated by a young police officer.

  • Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo 301: Wolf Guy

Awoooo! Sonny Chiba as a werewolf kicks off a season we call Monster Chiller Horror Theatre!

Welcome back for more Kung Fu Electric Boogaloo. This season, your five hosts continue their search for the ultimate B-Movie with eight films that feature riffs on the classic Universal Monsters.

“Sonny” Chiba is Wolf Guy, the only survivor of a clan of werewolves who relies on his feral, full-moon-activated superpowers to solve mysterious crimes. One night, a bizarre and bloody death in the Tokyo streets plunges him into a far-reaching conspiracy populated by crooked politicians, naked women, bit-players like Hideo Murota, a phantom tiger, and — best of all — a shadowy organization.

The guys are a bit lost as to why they take the wolf out of the wolf guy, but are absorbed in the fun of the film. Sonny Chiba is like hot sauce, he makes everything better! This film has action, romance, sex, and exploding people!
