  • Duncan (Vocal MIx)
Francesco Mami is back on Rhythm Cult with a brand-new EP called "Oceans of Caledan" that displays his excellent rhythmic ability and deep techno aesthetic. After delivering a remix of Dan Wild's "From The Earth" that destroyed dance floors, Mami now releases an EP that is sure to enthral label lovers.
"Oceans of Caledan," a four-track EP, offers proof of Mami's distinctive sound. Piter (Ageless Mix), the album's opening track, hypnotizes the listener with an intense tribal groove, complicated conga patterns, and deep bass. With glitchy voices that pop in and out of the mix and a swinging bass rhythm that drives the song forward, "Hulud," a collaboration with renowned French producer Julien Chaptal, is a stunning deep exploration. The more experimental "Idaho" was created in partnership with London-based producer Mooday Waters. The song keeps the groove rolling while pushing the boundaries of electronic music with dissonant chimes and searing acid static. The EP is completed with "Duncan," a joint effort with Eric D. Clark, who adds soulful, spaced-out vocals to Mami's recognizable dark tribal sounds. The vocals of Eric D. Clark, who is well known for his work at Whirlpool Productions, give the song more depth and take it to a higher level.
Francesco Mami's skill as a producer and his capacity to create intricate rhythms that keep the listener interested are on full display in the superb EP "Oceans Of Caledan". This publication will undoubtedly draw more people to the Cult.

  • Orlando Voorn | Between The Surface (Mix 2)
The Cult brings a legend from DMC scratch champion in the late eighties to the missing link between Detroit and Amsterdam in the nineties. Dutch producer Orlando Voorn needs little introduction.
With seminal hits like his dancefloor-destroying KMS smash ‘Fix’ under his belt, it is no surprise that the ever-innovative producer is as in demand today as he ever was. Having worked alongside techno originators such as Juan Atkins and honed his production skills under an incredible number of monikers over the years, we bring the multi-talented producer into the Cult. Here he produces an EP of techno brimming with the musicality and inventiveness that is regularly stamped all over his productions.
Opener ‘Between the Surface’ rolls along effortlessly with its Detroit house leanings, loose jazz drums and buoyant walking bass line driving the groove onwards. Hitting hard, ‘Dazed’ is up next with its jackin’ DX style bass and deep evolving arpeggios, that hark back to the glory days of early house music. Finally, ‘Immortal' ventures into deeper territory for a twisted journey of discordant synths, electro bleeps and haunting synth melodies.
His debut on Rhythm Cult is rich with ideas and showcases the creativity that has made Voorn a force to be reckoned with for nearly three decades in the game. Joining the dots between Amsterdam and Detroit this new EP brings fresh inspiration with every listen.
Early support from Stacey Pullen, Sasha, Drumcomplex, Onur Ozman, Sohmi, Joris Voorn, Bushwacka, John Digweed, Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin, Marco Faraone, Robert Owens, Ruben Mandolini, Shawn Reynaldo, Paco Osuna, Laurent Garnier.

  • Dan Wild | Panic Buying
Bristolian troublemaker @dan-wild is one of the founders behind the wild and award-winning Just Jack events in Bristol. His highly regarded record label of the same name has brought fresh music to us from producers such as Youandewan, Massimo Pagliara and Derek Carr. As half of the production duo Last Orders, he has released recently on Fate and Fiction and his music has been remixed by the likes of Metrolux head honcho XDB. The Cult welcomes on board Dan, who brings his discerning taste to the Panic Buying EP. A superb record of deep intelligent house music that is soaked in dub-house and Detroit influences.
First out of the gate is ‘From the Earth’, an atmospheric journey into the deep that rolls along on a bed of dark synth plucks and echoing keys.
Next comes ‘Panic Buying’ with its angular electro bleeps and skipping percussion, juxtaposed against moody organic string stabs.
The cult brings in one of the family Francesco Mami on remix duties who delivers a pair of interpretations guaranteed to work the floor. His ‘Liquid Mix’ of the opening track fairly thunders along, amplifying those dark stabs and adding some grit to the drums, whilst his other iteration is perhaps going to do the most damage - rotating as it does around an ever-spiralling percussion loop designed to send the dancefloor into orbit.
A well-rounded package of underground techno and house again on Rhythm Cult with another new name bought into the cult’s fold.
