In the past, the doors of the church opened inward, but now the people of our communities are no longer coming in through our doors as they once did. Approximately 78 percent of LCMS congregations have reached a plateau or are declining while, at the same time, the number of people claiming little or no connection to God through His Son, Jesus is rapidly growing.
