In this episode J'nae and I talk about our experience playing professional basketball overseas. As well give some advice on where to find a valid agent. Life is all about happiness. There's so many forms of acting but on this episode of Cultural Dreams I had the chance to bring in Elana and Soren to talk about Method acting. Method acting is a range of training and rehearsal techniques that seek to encourage sincere and emotionally expressive performances, as formulated by a number of different theatre practitioners. This form of acting is dangerous and has many psychological effects. But in todays society we glorify actors who have practiced method acting like Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Jim Carrey, Angelina Jolie, Forest Whitaker and the list goes on. Don't be afraid to ask. That's the answer Gareb gave me when I asked him how he got started and what pushes him to keep going. "People want to help you and if you don't ask, their not going to help, people are afraid to ask because they think it's a sign of weakness." I met Gareb in LA at one of my dads best friends house. He explained what he did for work and I immediately wanted to ask him to come on my podcast but I didn't. I was scared he'd say no. Later that day I said "I want him to come on my podcast" in a very low voice. Right after I said that my dad's best friend heard me, took me inside, and I asked Gareb if he would come on my podcast and with no hesitation he said "Absolutely, I love helping and working with young entrepreneurs." Life is going by so fast and I don't want to leave this planet with any regrets. It's funny how we can remember memories going back 15 years ago. All the laughs, all the crys, all the good times and all the bad times. But that makes us who we are today and every memory is worth remembering because it's the past now, we have to keep moving forward. The future is bright for each and everyone of us but it starts with being present and staying in the moment and not worrying about the past nor the future but that's hard for me but day by day it gets easier. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and because of that I can't dwell on the bad times like I used to. I keep my head down and I push for greatness because I deserve it.
