Recognizing how much more powerful relationships can be if they start off with chemistry through conversation, Blink ditches the struggle of sorting through neatly packaged, curated dating profiles and matches members based on a two step process - (1) a virtual blind speed date that removes the initial focus from physical characteristics and allows members to ask real questions, have real conversations, and build real connections, and (2) recognizing that love isn’t actually blind, a photo “glance” that gives members the ability to see a single photo of potential matches. Through this process, Blink facilitates real connections by empowering members to embrace vulnerability and avoid the superficial first impressions that are innate in traditional dating apps.
Taly is the founder and CEO of Blink, a new dating app challenging online dating norms, which was inspired by a revelatory experience at a blackout restaurant where Taly befriended fellow diners and felt the power of connecting with others free of looks-driven assumptions.
Taly obtained her Bachelor’s degree from New York University before earning her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2015. After working at a big law firm in NYC, Taly left legal practice for a more dynamic and innovative role in legal operations, first at Datadog and then at Netflix, before transitioning to work as a Product Manager at Evisort, an AI-powered legal tech solution.
Originally from a small southern Indiana town, Whitney came to Los Angeles to pursue a career in Entertainment Law. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2017. Blink is launching in LA this fall and has plans to expand to other metropolitan areas soon.
