Arrogance is a close cousin to Boasting. Like boasting arrogance is self-focused instead of others-focused. Arrogance points to the divisions and distinctions. It's a cover for the low self esteem that exists within the arrogant persons mind and heart. Love isn't arrogant, which means it doesn't take others for granted.
