Story Transcript:

Sl: Mateja je bila radovedna deklica z vedno žarečimi očmi.
En: Mateja was a curious girl with always shining eyes.

Sl: Tisti sončni poletni dan je bila s šolsko skupino v Botaničnem vrtu v Ljubljani.
En: That sunny summer day, she was with her school group at the Botanični vrt in Ljubljana.

Sl: Čipkaste sence palm so plesale po tleh, medtem ko so eksotične rastline izžarevale svojo barvitost.
En: The lacy shadows of the palms danced on the ground while the exotic plants radiated their colorfulness.

Sl: "Kako lepo je vse to," je rekla Mateja, ko sta se s prijateljem Juretom sprehajala po vijugastih poteh.
En: "How beautiful all this is," said Mateja, as she and her friend Jure walked through the winding paths.

Sl: Jure, njen najboljši prijatelj, je bil pozoren na vse podrobnosti.
En: Jure, her best friend, paid attention to all the details.

Sl: "Poglej te rože, Mateja!
En: "Look at these flowers, Mateja!

Sl: Nikoli jih še nisem videl," je rekel.
En: I've never seen them before," he said.

Sl: Iznenada se je priključil Tadej, novi vodič po vrtu.
En: Suddenly, Tadej, a new guide at the garden, joined them.

Sl: Bil je navdušen in poln energije.
En: He was enthusiastic and full of energy.

Sl: "Pozdravljena, otroci!
En: "Hello, children!

Sl: Danes imamo nekaj posebnega," je dejal, ko je pokazal majhno kletko, kjer je kraljeval redek metulj.
En: Today we have something special," he said, showing a small cage where a rare butterfly reigned.

Sl: "To je eden zadnjih svoje vrste.
En: "This is one of the last of its kind."

Sl: "Mateja se je, očarana, sklonila bližje.
En: Mateja, enchanted, leaned closer.

Sl: Nežno je odprla vrata majhne kletke, hotel si je bolje ogledati metulja.
En: She gently opened the door of the small cage, wanting to get a better look at the butterfly.

Sl: Ampak, hop!
En: But, hop!

Sl: Metulj je izkoristil priložnost in odletel proti nebu.
En: The butterfly seized the opportunity and flew towards the sky.

Sl: "Oh!
En: "Oh!"

Sl: " je Mateja vzkliknila, srce ji je poskočilo.
En: Mateja exclaimed, her heart skipped a beat.

Sl: Bila je prestrašena.
En: She was frightened.

Sl: "Ne skrbi, Mateja!
En: "Don't worry, Mateja!"

Sl: " je šepnil Jure, a Mateja ga je že prosila za pomoč.
En: Jure whispered, but Mateja had already asked him for help.

Sl: Pogovorila sta se o načrtu.
En: They talked about a plan.

Sl: Morala je preden je kdo drug opazil.
En: She had to act before anyone else noticed.

Sl: Metulj se je premeteno spuščal čez cvetlice in se smejal njihovim poskusom.
En: The butterfly cleverly fluttered over the flowers and laughed at their attempts.

Sl: Mateja in Jure sta ga sledila skozi vrtno pot.
En: Mateja and Jure followed it through the garden path.

Sl: A potem, tik preden ju je uspelo, je Tadej pritekel, njegov glas je bil poln navdušenja.
En: But then, just before they succeeded, Tadej ran over, his voice full of excitement.

Sl: "Kje je!
En: "Where is it!"

Sl: " je zavpil premočno, da je metulja še bolj prestrašil.
En: he shouted too loudly, which scared the butterfly even more.

Sl: Mateja se je obotavljala, a je vedela, da mora povedati resnico.
En: Mateja hesitated, but she knew she had to tell the truth.

Sl: "Tadej, jaz sem kriva," je priznala.
En: "Tadej, it's my fault," she admitted.

Sl: "Želela sem si samo pogledati.
En: "I just wanted to take a look."

Sl: "Tadej se je smejal, ko je metulj priletel nazaj in pristal točno na njegovem klobuku.
En: Tadej laughed when the butterfly flew back and landed right on his hat.

Sl: "Videti je, da sem mu všeč!
En: "It seems it likes me!"

Sl: "Vsi trije so se zasmejali.
En: All three laughed.

Sl: Tadej je umiril ton in jih povabil, naj si še enkrat ogledajo lepe rože v vrtu.
En: Tadej calmed his tone and invited them to take another look at the beautiful flowers in the garden.

Sl: Mateja je spoznala, da je v redu, če se zmotiš in prosiš za pomoč.
En: Mateja realized that it's okay to make mistakes and ask for help.

Sl: Jure ji je stisnil roko, nasmejana sta si pogledala.
En: Jure squeezed her hand, and they smiled at each other.

Sl: Skupaj s Tadejem so se zadovoljno sprehajali pod poletnim soncem, zdaj z močnejšo vezjo prijateljstva.
En: Together with Tadej, they walked happily under the summer sun, now with a stronger bond of friendship.
