No matter what we are called to do in life, there are two things we all need to walk in daily: humility and honor… Because the Lord resists the proud, and because honor is the currency of Heaven.
Join us as we discover what one biblical king learned about the importance of humility and honor and how his story is important for us today.
There is a story in 2 Kings which, while displaying the mighty power of our God, also teaches us two keys to walking with God. Keys of humility and honor. That, depending on if we choose to implement them or not, can determine the levels of blessing, authority, favor, and prosperity demonstrated in our lives.

“Walking by the Spirit” is a phrase that Believers love to quote but find difficult to explain or obey. While scripture talks about the battle between the ‘flesh man’ and the ‘spirit man,’ it can at times be difficult to know what falls under which category. Rather than focusing on what we do not know, we want to take the time to go back to scripture, building a foundation that empowers each Believer to walk by the Spirit.
It might be tempting to use the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians to neatly package up what it looks like to walk by the Spirit, but to truly understand what scripture means, it is important to recognize the work and role of the Holy Spirit throughout scripture.
Below are five characteristics of the Spirit and how we see them manifested in scripture.
First, it is important for us to keep in mind that the Holy Spirit has been in unity with God the Father, and God the Son, for all eternity.
Therefore, walking by the Spirit means you are walking in agreement with the one true God, the Creator. Understand this is a process…

We know that giving to those in need is an instruction from the Lord. When done with a cheerful heart (see 2 Corinthians 9:6-7), it touches God’s heart. But what is the Kingdom's purpose of giving? From God’s Word, we know that giving to those in need…
Ultimately, giving to those in need expands the Kingdom of God.

In short, yes. Christians can celebrate Purim! Purim is about deliverance. It is a festival full of joy and remembrance. It commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people from enemy forces. As Believers, we too must remember that enemy forces are against us (see Ephesians 6:12), and Yeshua is our Deliverer.
Christians celebrate Purim in remembrance of the ultimate deliverance against sin and death. The Believer’s perspective on Purim can focus also on the Lord’s daily deliverance in our lives.

The story of Esther is a classic tale of good versus evil. Purim is a Jewish feast celebrating this riveting tale. Believers cannot deny that a party celebrating biblical heroes is beneficial. However, many Believers struggle to understand the depths of the significance of Purim.
In the book of Esther, the villain was Haman. He sought to wipe out the Jewish people living within the Persian Empire during King Ahasuerus’s reign. Through a miraculous act of God, a Jewish orphan named Esther saved the entire nation.
Within the story, you read how Haman plotted to kill, steal, and destroy, just like the enemy of our souls. He twisted the truth and uttered lies.
She bravely approached the king, overcoming her doubt and stepping into her purpose. She saved her people!

When we are preparing for Purim, we are coming into alignment with the Lord. What does that mean?
“to confirm these days of Purim at their appointed time, as Mordecai the Jew and Queen Esther had prescribed for them…”—Esther 9:31 (emphasis added)
“as the days on which the Jews had rest from their enemies, as the month which was turned from sorrow to joy for them, and from mourning to a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and joy, of sending presents to one another and gifts to the poor.”—Esther 9:22 (emphasis added)
“that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city…”—Esther 9:28 (emphasis added)
“Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: ‘Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!’”—Esther 4:15 (emphasis added)
When we think about preparing for Purim, we focus on the book of Esther. While studying the Purim story, we are naturally drawn to the roles of Mordecai and Esther.
As a result, Israel was saved from Haman and the powers of Persia and the Media who were attempting to exterminate the Jewish people.

What is the Lord preparing you for in this season? Whatever it is, there is a door of opportunity waiting. Knock and it will be opened!
Confidence in the Lord and empowerment by the Holy Spirit breaks down the wall of self-doubt that stands before the door.
We are in a season of preparation, Purim. Esther prepared herself for a Kingdom appointment and the Lord gave her quiet confidence, canceling the assignment of self-doubt. He wants to do the same for you.

Almost everyone in the world uses light. No matter if it is the sun, a lightbulb, or a candle, these types of light guide our way. But what is the purpose of His light?
What does it mean for us?
And how can we too be lights to the world?
Join us as we answer to these and other questions, discovering the Light of the World that cannot be hidden or extinguished and how we can choose to walk in it!

Read Megann Marcellino’s story of how honoring Shabbat at home has blessed her family…
Recently, I shared our family’s journey of the One New Man, how this changed our family culture, and subsequently changed how we honored Shabbat at home…
When Joseph was born, we stayed home for a few months which was followed by an extended trip and then COVID. As a result, we had almost 6 months of Shabbat at home.
This was something I never even considered a possibility. For us, Shabbat was always a corporate experience. However, the season of honoring Shabbat at home was such a gift to us as parents and brought to light an understanding I think we needed in order to build a better faith foundation for our children.
Ariebella loves celebrating Shabbat with our church family. She looks forward to it every week! But it wasn’t until we began practicing the traditions of Shabbat at home as a family of four that she began to understand that it wasn’t just about seeing her friends.
When I was a child, we read “Bedtime for Frances.” However, now as a mom, I don’t recommend it for 4-year-olds. It gives way too many ideas for additional naughty bedtime shenanigans!
Don’t we already have enough?
Water. Check. Song. Check. Favorite blanket. Check. Book. Check. Prayer. Check. Cuddles. Check. Nightlight on. Check. Door cracked. More water. Check.
Can you relate?

The Holy Spirit, His Word, and all that God provides Believers with a firm foundation. But God also uses the purposes and callings of others to teach us more about Himself. To see things through His eyes. Pastors, rabbis, teachers, and prophets speaking out the Word and plans of God is one way this is accomplished… another way is through the written word.
Join us as we explore some of the different study guides, Bible companions, testimonies, and narratives that can serve as tools to grow your walk with God!
