Investigators later uncovered a vast distribution network importing drugs worth hundreds of millions of pounds. Mee’s criminal career eventually caught up with him. Arrested in the Netherlands during a major police operation targeting the network, he spent years inside some of Europe’s toughest prisons before returning to the UK to serve a long sentence.
