What a read! I knew what happened with Gabriel ...
What a read! I knew what happened with Gabriel was unjust! Crazy how everything came together! Val gets his just desserts in the end!
Well done, Marc Raabe!
Five Stars
Great psychological thriller! Intertwining plots that come together in the end. Page turner. Setting well placed in Europe.
Translation problems?
When Gabriel and his brother David were children, there parents were shot to death in their own home. Both boys were also present and the fallout sent them both into freefall. David managed to adjust better than Gabriel, who spent a good deal of time institutionalized. Now, employed as a security guard for an alarm company, Gabriel is sent out one night to answer an alarm in a long deserted house. At the same time, his pregnant girlfriend Liz, is set upon by two thugs and viciously beaten. She calls Gabriel for help from the park where she lays bleeding, but by the time he and the police get there, sheâs gone. Instead, they find the body of one of the men who had attacked Liz. When Gabriel gets a call from the man holding Liz prisoner, he knows he will need his brotherâs help. Only working together, will the two men be able to remember what really happened the night their parents died and rescue Liz from a maniacal serial killer. This book was good, but not great, but I think the translation may have had something to do with it. The endless references to film also got a bit tiresome
