Director Ramona S. Diaz joins moderator Miguel Penabella (Film and Media Studies, UCSB) for a post-screening discussion of her documentary A Thousand Cuts. She details her experiences closely following Nobel Peace Prize-winning journalist Maria Ressa and the Rappler team’s fight for press freedom in the Philippines, as well as observations from political rallies of those aligned with former President Rodrigo Duterte.
