John is definitely the most different amongst the four gospel accounts. So what is John trying to tell us? John makes clear that the miracles were more than just a showing of power. He does this by describing the signs of Jesus and what those signs meant. John also introduces us to a host of witnesses including himself to help reveal more about the life of Jesus and his teachings.
