I scored 3,500 cyber security roles against AI. These 6 skills came out on top, the ones that get stronger as AI gets better, not replaced by it.
Most career advice tells you to hide from AI. The data says the opposite: the safest cyber security careers are the ones running AI, or owning what AI can't be trusted with. In this episode: the six skills with their AI-resistance scores, why AI security engineer scores highest of any engineering role, the green career that needs no coding at all, the brand new offensive path, and the one specialism AI legally cannot be left to run on its own. Each one comes with a practical step you can take this week.

AI can now copy any app. It reads compiled code as easily as it writes it, and 5 types of software business cannot survive that. This is the list, and the one-sentence test that tells you in 30 seconds whether yours is next.
Everyone is warning that AI will kill software by writing it cheaply. The quiet threat is that AI can now take a compiled binary and reconstruct the source, so any software whose only protection was its code is exposed. In this episode: what Anthropic's Mythos model proved, the 5 business models it breaks, and the test that shows whether your product, your employer or your next job is on the wrong side of it.

Is cybersecurity hard to learn? After 30 years and 500,000+ students, this is what the data shows: what's genuinely easy, what's actually hard, and why most people quit.
The technical fundamentals are more learnable than you think. No coding, no degree, and your age doesn't matter. The hard part is finishing. In this episode: the online course completion rates, the ISC2 Workforce Study on what hiring managers rank above technical skills, and the accountability research that takes your odds of following through from 10% to 95%. If you're a career changer wondering whether cybersecurity is too hard for you, this is the honest, evidence-based answer.

Cybersecurity vs software engineering: which survives AI? I scored 3,600+ jobs with my own AI risk model. The honest answer isn't what either camp tells you.
The two careers are merging into the same job, so which field you pick matters far less than which role you pick inside it. In this episode: the live security job description that changes the question, the AI displacement scores (security architect 71 vs SOC analyst 5, avionics engineer 71 vs junior developer 9), why the entry-level rung is collapsing in both fields, and the one capability, AI-driven engineering plus a real specialism, that opens three doors: employed, consultant or founder.

AI won't just replace your job. When AI generates the GDP, governments stop investing in people. That's the intelligence curse. Here's how to escape it.
The resource curse destroyed Venezuela, Nigeria and Congo — now the same economics are coming for the labour market. In this episode: the Stanford data showing entry-level jobs already declining, the business model that only works by replacing human labour, and the free tool that scores your job's AI risk task by task.

My AI found an admin login bypass in a WordPress security plugin running on 4 million sites, then broke in with no password. Here's the real skill behind it.
I asked HAL, my AI hacking agent, to find a way into a WordPress security plugin installed on 4 million websites. Five AI models from Claude, OpenAI and Google reviewed the code at once, so none of them marked their own homework. Every one independently found the same critical bug. HAL explained it in plain English, then built a working exploit: log in as administrator with no password and no two-factor.
The break-in isn't the point. On its own the AI is unreliable. It misses things, it makes things up, and when you ask it to check its own work it just agrees with itself. What broke into that site was a system I engineered, and the AI models are only one piece plugged into it. That system is the actual skill, and it's learnable. Andrej Karpathy, a founding member of OpenAI, calls the discipline agentic engineering. I call what it makes you AI-driven.

I pay $800 a month for Claude. So I priced the local AI hardware to replace it — for one person, a small team, and a whole company. Here's what's worth buying.
Real hardware, real benchmarks, real payback maths. The Mac Studio M3 Ultra vs an RTX 5090 build for solo users, two Mac Studios running DeepSeek V4 Flash over Thunderbolt 5 for small teams, and the 8x Nvidia H200 rack for enterprises — each scored against SWE-Bench Verified and your actual subscription bill, with an honest yes/no per setup.
