The number of veterans moving into civilian cybersecurity careers has grown steadily over the last few years, providing a useful talent pool for organisations facing shortages of skilled staff.

But how easy is it, to move from the military into cybersecurity?

Most enterprises use at least some open source software. And when it comes to the cloud, most do.

But do developers and IT security teams have the skills to work with open source, and to ensure its security?

If not, what can they do to close the skills gap?

Our guest is Nigel Douglas, head of developer relations at Cloudsmith. He was previously senior open source security architect at Sysdig, when this episode was recorded.
