Katy Faust and Stacy Manning’s book Them Before Us isn’t just a clever name. It’s the very real problem of today’s me world. Where a homosexual couple want to adopt a child when one or neither parent is biologically related thanks to sperm and egg donors.
A story posted in Geelong Advertiser, romantically on Valentine’s Day, 14 February headlined with ‘Childless’ man discovers he actually has 37 children. This story, of Mr Ellenstein’s money making project of selling his sperm when he was young, screams the lack of humanity that comes from the process of creating children who will live with parents, neither or both of them being biologically related to the child. Scientific studies have shown how disastrous this is for the child.
