David, the man who as a very young boy killed the giant Goliath, wrote a poem (a psalm) when he was King of Israel, about 1,000 years before Jesus was crucified. It reads as a staggering account, by Jesus, of his crucifixion and death.

Now remember that the Old Testament was translated into Greek by over 70 scholars (why it’s called the Septuagint – from the Latin for 70) in about 275BC. At that time most Jews didn’t speak Hebrew. So the Old Testament is locked in as being 100% genuine – written a long time before the birth of Jesus and full of prophecies of the coming of Jesus. The most staggering by far is what the Angel Gabriel told Daniel (the man in the lion’s den). It predicted about 650 years ahead of time the exact day that Jesus would enter Jerusalem on the ass – Palm Sunday. So in today’s programme Jesus final moments on the cross are explored and he is brought down from the cross dead – with the perfection of his promise to rise from the dead yet to be fulfilled.

Jesus wasn’t crucified on Good Friday. Excruciating is a word that comes from Christ’s crucifixion. The greatest injustice in the history of the world was about to happen. Pontius Pilate, Jesus’ judge, was blackmailed into sentencing an innocent man, the only man who never sinned, to death. If you were going on trial in modern day China, or North Korea, you’d know that you’d be found guilty – It wouldn’t matter if you were really innocent. But if you went on trial in Australia, you’d expect to get a fair trial. We have an elaborate system to make sure of that. But if all the rules about giving you a fair trial were broken, or ignored, and it was obvious the people running the trial wanted to make sure that you were found guilty, even though you weren’t, you’d be in a state of shock and anger. Well this programme is the story of the most unjust trial under what was normally a fair legal system.

Today you’ll hear the report that Jesus actually gave to God about what he had done in fulfilling what God had required Him to do. He’d now completed everything … but for his final blood sacrifice – the last sacrifice that would be needed to be made to God forever. The greatest act of self-sacrifice by the greatest man ever who ever lives. As Jesus and the disciples walked together to the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus gave them his final instructions about spreading his teachings - something they were going to do spectacularly and make the world you live in today –then he was taken – his trials are about to begin.

When you’re trying to bring someone, hugely popular, down it’ll take careful planning. You have to be in control – total control. So when the person you’re trying to do this to takes complete control of your kangaroo court, what are you going to do? Jesus was no innocent victim of evil plotting pharisees and the traitor Judas – he was the one calling the shots all the way through. His enemies started tripping all over their own feet. They never regained their balance. So the people who wanted to see Jesus dead, were being pushed headlong and unprepared by him into doing what He wanted them to do – and everything they did was going wrong.

Here’s the Easter story you haven’t heard. In AD70, the Roman Emperor Vespasian had his son, Titus, surround Jerusalem, with the 5th, 10th, 12th and 15th Legions who stormed it. Over a million people died and 100,000 were taken as slaves. And what has that got to do with Easter? The day after Jesus’ triumphal parade into Jerusalem, he goes to the Temple. He gives the priests some brutal tongue lashings. Finally he tells the Jewish crowds outside the Temple that they’re doomed until – well that’s where todays programme ends up – so you’ll have stay listening. Now the Jewish leaders have to come up with some other way to get the Romans to do their dirty work to kill Jesus.

You think you know the story of Easter? I’ll bet you you don’t. I’m going to tell you about the prophecy which gave the precise day that Jesus would enter Jerusalem as the Messiah/King exactly 173,880 days time from a historical event – and He did. The torture of Jesus that was too grisly for Mel Gibson to show in the Passion. Jesus’ incredible sense of humour, his brutal verbal confrontations with the pharisees (the Jewish priests). Was Christ crucified on a Wednesday and not a Friday? The warning given to the Christians in Jerusalem about Jerusalem’s destruction from which every Christian was saved but over 1 million Jews were killed and 100,000 taken as slaves. The story of the crucifixion week is the most astounding story ever told about the greatest man who ever lived, who did the most amazing thing because he loved you and changed our world forever.

This is the end my friends. Over the past 12 parts I’ve looked at the issue of the Stolen Generations – and there is no other conclusion than the finding that it’s a myth. In the first two parts I looked at what Aboriginal activists had to say about it from the 1940’s to the 1980s (until Peter Read “discovered” the Stolen Generations). Not one Aboriginal activist had commented on the Stolen Generations until Peter Read had discovered it, and since then not one Aboriginal activist has failed to comment on it.

The claim that there were Stolen Generations went to the High Court in the Kruger Case to prove that the policies of the Australian government were genocidal. In 1997 the High Court of Australia rejected that in a decision handed down after the Bring Them Home Report had been issued. The High Court invited anyone who thought they had a claim about genocide, because of the way that the government departments administered the laws, to bring any such claims. Lorna Cubillo and Robert Gunner did just that. In 2000 Justice O’Loughlin of the Federal Court of Australia rejected their claims. He found that the government had pursued a policy of offering humanitarian care to vulnerable children, exposed to mistreatment, violence, including sexual abuse, as well as trying to offer children caught up in those problems, education and skills to find employment.

Despite the fact that after both of those cases it’s no longer possible to bring a case before a court in Australia alleging genocide and to be a member of the Stolen Generations, because there were no Stolen Generations, I seriously doubt whether more than a handful of Australians today know that. Our children continue to be taught about the Stolen Generations in schools and at universities, even though it’s now a proven myth. Aboriginal leaders continue to not only tell the story of the Stolen Generations. Some even make the impossible claim that they’re members of the Stolen Generations.

The thousands of white Australians who dedicated, in some cases, their whole lives to helping Aboriginal children who were in desperate need between 1910 and 1980, have been called out as being the no different to the concentration camp guards at the Nazi death camps.

We know that the children of families where there’s domestic violence, victims of sexual abuse, are very likely to do to their partners and children what was done to them. Letting kids grow up in an environment free from that was clearly a good thing.

So what’s happened in Aboriginal communities around Australia since all State and Federal governments have effectively stopped being involved in trying to prevent these abuses being perpetrated today? Why did so many Aboriginals claim to be victims of the Stolen Generations, even though there was no such thing?

Let me try to give you some answers in this wrap up.
