Just in time for our stream, Monte Cook Games released another new Cypher update email!

Titled "Taking Out the Not Fun", the new update delves into the mindset of streamlining gameplay aspects to make things more fun. To that effect, the article also specifically talks about changes being made in the Cypher System with tracking time for duration of effects!

Jason Campbell of Shadomain joins us to talk about his latest Backerkit project, Six-gun Doomsday!

The Ancient Albatross is flying solo! For this video, Ancient had the pleasure of going over the latest news about the new Cypher edition! This time, the information comes out of an article from Monte Cook's Substack; RPG Design Theories!

The article, titled "It's Right There in the Name", goes over cyphers and how he plans to approach them in the new books. We didn't get a ton of specific details, but we did get a glimpse into how Monte himself views cyphers and how he plans to approach their placement in the new edition.

With the AGE OF CYPHER upon us and the new project confirmed to be a new edition of Cypher System, there are many questions to be asked. Monte Cook Games has been amazing about giving us more details in their Cypher update emails and Monte Cook's Design Diary entries, but alas! We did not get a new one since last stream!

That's where we come in! Spiggs18 (Anthony) took to the Discord to ask the community what question they most want answered about the new Cypher project. We compiled the most voted answers into a top 5 list, along with 2 honorable mentions!

Spiggs is joined by Ancient Al to run down the list and discuss the top 5 questions the community wants answered about the Cypher project!

We keep learning more and more about the upcoming Cypher System changes! We got another new Monte Cook Design Diary entry along with an email update!

The design diary entry focuses on using rules to define genre. Monte details how wounds, genre abilities (!), and more can be used to really push the feel of genres.

The email update gave us some amazing news! The game will now just be called Cypher and it will be two books; a GM book and a player book!
