Every one of us has an inner dialogue—the ongoing conversation in our minds that shapes how we see ourselves, respond to challenges, and live out our faith. In this message, we explore how spiritual growth isn’t just about outward behavior, but about what’s happening internally.Jesus Himself grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people (Luke 2:52), showing us that growth is both spiritual and practical. Scripture reminds us that real transformation happens when God changes the way we think—not when we simply try harder (Romans 12:1–2).This message unpacks three keys to winning the inner dialogue:Understanding that struggle is part of life—but Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33).Recognizing the source of destructive thoughts and lies, and contrasting them with God’s purpose for a rich and satisfying life (John 10:10).Learning to rely on God’s strength, the Holy Spirit, and life-giving community to stand firm when life drains us and the enemy attacks us.We contrast the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—with the fruit that anxiety, anger, addiction, and avoidance produce when left unchecked. Ultimately, we’re reminded that we don’t fight these battles alone. Jesus understands our weaknesses and invites us to come boldly to Him for grace, mercy, and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:14–16).📖 Key Scriptures:Luke 2:52Romans 12:1–2John 16:33John 10:101 Peter 5:8–9Ephesians 3:16–19Galatians 5:22–23Hebrews 4:14–16Psalm 105:4This message is an invitation to fix our focus, strengthen our inner life, and allow God to shape the thoughts that shape our future.Cypress Church, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a vibrant, welcoming church dedicated to helping lead people to Christ and provide steps to follow after him. In Week Two of The Me I Could Be, we confront a struggle many of us live with every day: the pressure to pretend—to wear armor that doesn’t actually fit.
Using David’s encounter with Saul’s armor in 1 Samuel 17, this message asks a powerful question: Have you ever felt like you’re wearing somebody else’s armor? David recognized that victory wouldn’t come from pretending to be someone else—it would come from trusting how God uniquely made and equipped him.
At the core of this message is a heart-check: Who are you working to please first—God or people? While the praise of people feels good in the moment, it fades quickly. God invites us to something deeper and more sustainable: living authentically before Him.
Scripture reminds us that:
• God specifically created you (Jeremiah 1:4–5)
• God specifically equipped you with gifts by His grace (Romans 12:6–8)
• God specifically planned purposes for your life (Jeremiah 1:7, 18–19)
You are not an accident. You are not under-equipped. And you are not called to live someone else’s story.
This message encourages us to lay down the pressure to perform, stop pretending, and step fully into the person God designed us to be—working wholeheartedly for Him, not for the approval of others (Colossians 3:23).
We also look ahead with hope, remembering that seasons of heaviness can turn into seasons of joy when we trust God’s timing and promises (Zechariah 8:19).
📖 Key Scriptures:
1 Samuel 17:38–40 (NLT) – David refuses Saul’s armor
Colossians 3:23 (NLT) – Working for the Lord, not people
Jeremiah 1:4–5, 7, 9–10, 18–19 (NLT) – God’s personal calling and empowerment
Romans 12:6–8 (NLT) – Unique gifts by God’s grace
Zechariah 8:19 (NLT) – From mourning to joy

We all carry a picture in our minds of the me I could be—the person God is shaping us into versus the person we often experience today. This message explores the tension between those two realities and invites us to shrink the gap, not through willpower alone, but through grace-filled transformation.
Scripture reminds us that while physical training has value, training for godliness carries promise for both this life and the life to come (1 Timothy 4:8–10). The goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress. Not destiny overnight, but direction over time. Not instant success, but faithful steps.
Many of us get caught in a discouraging cycle: feeling inspired or guilty, trying harder, growing tired when results don’t come quickly, and eventually quitting. God offers a better way.
This message is anchored in two foundational truths:
• We are saved by grace—not by effort or achievement (Ephesians 2:8–10).
• We are called to live by grace—depending daily on God’s power at work in us (1 Corinthians 15:9–10).
Spiritual growth happens when we focus on the right things:
• Direction, not just destination
• Steps, not just outcomes
• God’s Word lighting our path one step at a time (Psalm 119:105–112)
We’re also reminded that growth doesn’t happen alone. Life-giving community sharpens us, strengthens us, and helps us persevere (Proverbs 27:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:9–11).
Finally, we look to the powerful example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3—men whose overwhelming devotion to God gave them strength to stand firm, even when obedience came at a cost. True transformation flows from devotion, not pressure.
God isn’t asking you to become someone else overnight. He’s inviting you to take the next faithful step toward the person He already sees.

At Christmas, we celebrate more than a moment in history—we celebrate the arrival of hope. Not a wishful kind of hope, but a true and living hope rooted in the promises of God and fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.
When the angels appeared to the shepherds, they didn’t bring vague encouragement—they brought good news for all people. A Savior had been born. A Messiah had arrived. Hope entered the world in human form (Luke 2:10–11).
Biblical hope is not blind optimism. Hebrews reminds us that faith gives substance to what we hope for and confidence in what we cannot yet see (Hebrews 11:1). Hope has an anchor point—God’s promises—and it calls for a response—our trust, prayer, and pursuit of Him.
Through the words of Jeremiah, God assures us that His plans are good, purposeful, and full of hope. When we seek Him wholeheartedly, He promises that we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:11–13). This hope isn’t only for eternity—it’s for the here and now, the journey ahead, and the ultimate prize that awaits us in Christ.
Jesus is our hope—for today, for tomorrow, and forever.

Today’s message takes us to the heart of the gospel—the love of God revealed through Jesus Christ. From John’s opening words (“In the beginning was the Word…”) to the powerful declaration that “God so loved the world,” Scripture shows us that love was God’s motivation, love is God’s method, and love remains God’s mission.
We see that Jesus didn’t come to condemn but to save, to dwell with us, and to reveal the glory and grace of the Father (John 1:14; John 3:16–17). Because of that love, three significant things become possible for us:
our strength, our system, and true life—life that is found in Christ our Savior and surrendered to Christ our Lord.
This message also explores the important distinction between receiving Jesus as Savior and following Him as Lord. One rescues you, but the other leads and shapes every part of your life, purpose, and future. When Christ is your Lord, your mission becomes clear, your identity becomes anchored, and your legacy becomes eternal.
Colossians 1:27 reminds us of the great mystery and miracle: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Because Christ lives in us, we live on mission with a two-fold calling: Come and see the goodness of God… and Go and tell the world what He has done. From the invitation to find rest in Jesus (Matthew 11:28), to the shepherds proclaiming the good news (Luke 2:17), to the Great Commission itself (Matthew 28:18–20), we are invited to receive His love and then share His love.
The love of God changes everything—your life, your purpose, your legacy, and your mission.

In this weeks teaching we look at what it truly means to leave a Kingdom legacy—a legacy that isn’t built on money, status, or accomplishments, but on fixing our eyes on Jesus’ mission, Jesus’ power, and Jesus’ return. This message unpacks three essential truths:1️⃣ Fix Your Eyes on the Mission — Jesus redirects our focus from seeking more information to stepping into His mission. As His witnesses, we’re called to see clearly, speak truthfully, and live faithfully.2️⃣ Fix Your Eyes on the Power — You are not called to build a Kingdom legacy on your own strength. The same Spirit that empowered the early disciples empowers you today—turning limited time, limited energy, and limited resources into something eternal.3️⃣ Fix Your Eyes on the Promise — When your eyes stay fixed on Jesus, your life becomes worship, and what you give your life to becomes your legacy.Your legacy isn’t what you leave behind—your legacy is what you set in motion.Cypress Church, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a vibrant, welcoming church dedicated to helping lead people to Christ and provide steps to follow after him. In Week Four of Kingdom Economics, we ask one of the most important questions of the series: How do you leave a real mark on this world according to God’s plan? Every one of us has three resources that shape the legacy we leave behind—our time, our energy, and our money. But Jesus warns us that our legacy can be choked out by three traps: financial stress, greed, and envy (Mark 4:18–19). These distractions pull us toward what we want now instead of what we value most. This message reframes legacy through the lens of God’s heart, God’s timeline, and God’s purpose. We look at Abram’s call in Genesis 12, where God blesses His people not just to bless them… but so they will be a blessing. We’re reminded that the greatest enemy of legacy is short-term thinking, and that a God-honoring legacy always extends beyond our lifetime to future generations. Scripture calls us to plant seeds today that someone else may harvest tomorrow. That is the essence of true impact.Legacy isn’t what we leave behind. Legacy is what we set in motion.📖 Key Scriptures:Mark 4:18–19 (NLT) – The thorns that choke out fruitGenesis 12:1–3 (NLT) – Abram blessed to be a blessingPsalm 22:30–31 (NLT) – Generations yet unbornPsalm 78:5–7 (NLT) – Teaching the next generationPsalm 112:5–6 (NLT) – Living generously and righteouslyActs 2:44–47 (NLT) – Radical generosity of the early churchThis message includes three powerful, legacy-shaping prayers:1️⃣ God, help me choose what I want MOST over what I want NOW.2️⃣ God, help me see life GENERATIONALLY.3️⃣ God, help me realize this isn’t about me.When we invest our time, energy, and resources with eternity in mind, we move beyond temporary wins and set in motion a legacy that honors God and blesses others for generations.Cypress Church, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a vibrant, welcoming church dedicated to helping lead people to Christ and provide steps to follow after Him. This week in Kingdom Economics, we lean into one of the most avoided—but most life-changing—topics in the church: tithing. Just one week each year, we have an open, honest, grace-filled conversation about what God teaches us regarding generosity, stewardship, and living on the narrow path that leads to life.In a world filled with financial anxiety, comparison, and pressure, God invites us into a better way. A path of freedom. A system of blessing. A posture of worship. We learn that when we honor the Lord with a tithe—10% set apart as holy—three powerful things happen:1️⃣ We express our heart in worship according to His plan2️⃣ We fuel the movement of the local church3️⃣ We position our lives to receive God’s blessingJesus teaches us that the path to life is narrow (Matthew 7:13–14), and God provides systems to keep us walking on it—weekly worship, Sabbath rest, and consistent, intentional generosity.📖 Key Scriptures:Matthew 7:13–14 (NIV) – The narrow gateExodus 20:3, 8–10 (NIV/NLT) – Keeping God first and honoring the SabbathLeviticus 27:30 (NLT) – The tithe belongs to the LordGenesis 4:2–5; 28:22 (NLT) – Tithing before the law2 Corinthians 9:7 (NLT) – Giving offerings cheerfullyRomans 12:1–2 (NLT) – Stewardship as worshipMalachi 3:8–10 (NIV) – “Test me in this”Proverbs 3:5–10 (NLT) – Honor the Lord with your wealthThis message breaks down the myths and misunderstandings around giving, shows the biblical foundation of the tithe, and reminds us that God isn’t trying to take something from us…He’s trying to give something to us.When we return the tithe, we:⭐ Worship in obedience⭐ Help fuel life-change and ministry⭐ Live under God’s blessing and provisionGod’s love for us never changes—whether we tithe or not. But His pathway to freedom does.
