In this episode, I was privileged to meet with Helen (on Google Meet) to hear first hand about the work of the Maritime Archaeology Trust in preserving the memory of American Soldiers who etched their names onto walls in Southampton as they passed through the city on their way to Europe during the Second World War. The Trust, along with hard working volunteers, have put together a digital record of the wall, complete with a 3D model and links to the stories of the soldiers. Helen gave a brilliantly detailed interview to introduce me to some of these stories and the work that has gone into preserving their memory.
