  • Potpourri
A potpourri guaranteed to please you! From George Burns to Mike Curb, The Partridge Family to Chuck Berry!

  • Two Songs.
Two songs pervaded almost every singer's song-list in the late 60's. "Aquarius" and "Light My Fire", sometimes to embarrassing effect, but sometimes spectacularly! Enjoy a few dozen with me.

  • Sunshine! Look at it, you cloudy so-and-so.
Ella Fitzgerald - Sunshine of Your Love (1969) Recorded live. This took guts.

The Free Design - You Are My Sunshine (1971)
The Herd - Sunshine Cottage (1968)
Leo's Sunshipp - Gimme the Sunshine (1978) Awesome, very obscure soulful offering from a short-lived group.
Kool Mo Dee (1981) Bob Burtman didn't like this AT ALL. This is historical, anyhow.
Funkadelic - Good to Your Earhole (1975)
    Gilbert Neal - Confessional (2016)
FM Jackson - Confessional (Insides Drippin' Remix) (2016)

  • When Chorale Meets Corrosion
One-hit wonders singing feel-good songs that really marked a generation's transition from nascent flower-power to corporate phajaan to commercial obedience. And some VERY rarely heard Arthur Brown.

Brotherhood of Man - Where Are You Going To My Love (1969) Their big hit was "United We Stand".
Brotherhood of Man - Love One Another (1969)
Brotherhood of Man - This Boy (1973)
Hillside Singers - Old Fashioned Love Song (1972)
Paul Williams - Old Fashioned Love Song (1971)
Brotherhood of Man - Reach Out Your Hand (1970)
Hillside Singers - We're Together (1971) Recognize that melody? People of a certain age will.
Kingdom Come & Arthur Brown - Sunrise (1971) That's the guy that had a big hit with "Fire" in the late 60's. He fronted Kingdom Come. Kingdom went.
Arthur Brown and Vincent Crane - Storm (1980) Vincent Crane was in Atomic Rooster. I can't say I like them.
Arthur Brown - Helen With The Sun (1974)
The Alan Parsons Project - The Turn Of A  Friendly Card (1980)

  • A Change is Gonna Come?
The Meditation Singers - A Change Is Gonna Come (1971) The Meditation Singers pre-date Rock, being formed in the 40's. Did you ever watch "Touched By An Angel"? What a sentimental so-and-so you are. Er...I mean Della Reese was in that show, and she was also in this group, but she left before this was released.
Zoot Money - Just A Passing Phase (1968) Andy Summers of The Police was Zoot's partner in crime. Zoot tried everything. You've never heard of Zoot Money? Well... One thing: When you look at Andy Summers on a video of The Police playing to 1000,000,000 people, try to remember that he had seen it all by then, done it all by then, and probably never imagined he'd be that big, even after being in Eric Burdon's Animals.
Average White Band - Work To Do (1974) Cuts the Isley Brothers original to pieces.
Be Bop Deluxe - New Precision (1978)
The Beach Boys - Rollin' Up To Heaven (1971? or 1974?) Sources disagree. All you need to know is that Brian Wilson was one messed-up dude in the 70's.
Gary S. Paxton - Fat, Fat Christians (1978) (From Wikipedia) Beyond his early work as part of Skip & Flip, Paxton is best known for his involvement in two novelty hits: the 1960 No. 1 smash "Alley Oop" — written by Dallas Frazier and cut quickly with a group thrown together by Paxton's roommate Kim Fowley, The Hollywood Argyles — and a 1962 No. 1 hit inspired by the Mashed Potato dance craze, "Monster Mash", which Paxton produced and recorded with its author Bobby "Boris" Pickett and another assembled group billed as The Cryptkickers.
Gary Lewis and the Playboys - Doin' The Flake (1965) (Kellogg's Corn Flakes promo release)
Gary Lewis and the Playboys - New in Town (1967)
George Duke - Uncle Remus (1975)
Captain and Tennille - God Only Knows (1975)
The Burtons - MacArthur Park (1979)
Marvin, Welch, and Farrar - Throw Down A Line (1971) Marvin and Welch were in The Shadows, Farrar wrote lots of hits for Olivia Newton John, including "You're The One That i Want" and "Magic".
Olivia Newton John - Me and Bobbie McGee (1971)
? - Ring Dang Doo Can anyone divine the version? I tried Shazam, but Shazam just laughed. There's a baby voice interpolating.
    Stronium 90 - Electron Romance (1977)
The Family Dogg - Like Janis (1972)
The Clash  - Radio Clash (1980)
Wayne Newton - Love Of The Common People (1967)
Zoot Money's Big Roll Band - Big Time Operator (1966)

  • Ayatollah.
This show combines two things that naturally go together. The crazy prog band Gong and American songs about the Ayatollah. Also, a crazy version of "Takin' Care of Business" by Kurtis Blow.
