SAHB ( Sensational Alex Harvey Band) were raw but also sophisticated. Their lyrics were just much better than other acts of the time. Sometimes it was hard to glean their meaning, but "Hot City Symphony" is fantastic.

As always, "D-Sides, Orphans, and Oddities" brings the strange for you. Disco is a never-ending source of bad choices. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Plus some D. C. LaRue, a justifiably underappreciated artist of that era.

Pickwick Records put out some pretty lame soundalikes in the late '60s and early '70s. Plus, no wonder no one mentioned Barclay James Harvest as a great '70s band. They were boring. D-Sides, Orphans, and Oddities is here to learn ya.

This episode of D-Sides focuses primarily on two acts that enjoyed amazing success in the US, Vaughn Meader and Bay City Rollers, and how fickle show business can be, either pre-fame or after immediate success. Also, rarely heard Paul McCartney, some rockin' proto-REO Speedwagon, and Rufus, featuring NOT Chaka Kahn. One of my favorite shows.
