After one of the more disappointing results in an Eberflus era that's full of them, we're both kinda done. This coaching staff is straight up garbage, the franchise has ruined Justin Fields, and now we've got no choice but to root for Division II Rudy. Good times in Chicago.

The Bears shock the world--or at least the two of us--with a complete victory over the Commanders in Washington. We talk about DJ Moore's star turn, Fields getting the ball out more quickly, and some guys on the defense--most notably, some of the rookies--looking very good. We then (finally!) close the book on Chase Claypool's disastrous Bears tenure and mourn the loss of one of the NFL's all-time greats in Dick Butkus.

The Bears did it again, this time snapping defeat from the jaws of victory in a 31-28 loss to the nearly equally inept Denver Broncos. We try to put a positive spin on this in terms of their draft capital, but still find there's little reason to be optimistic about this organization. So we once again revisit the disastrous Chase Claypool trade, rank the Bears coaches since Lovie Smith, and even have a Taylor Swift-themed Shake It Off.

After another demoralizing loss that we both mostly avoided, we dissect this awful Bears team and try to find some path forward. At 38 minutes we transition to the Cubs, where Noah admits he does not, in fact, understand how percentages work.

We break down the Cubs breakdown and talk about Pete Crow-Armstrong's debut before Noah reveals he doesn't understand how percentages work.

After another disheartening Bears loss, Dan is flat-out done with the coaching staff and Luke Getsy in particular, the only reason he hasn't completely closed the book on Justin Fields. Noah is clinging to some lingering shreds of hope, but both agree there's no reason to believe in this franchise as long as it remains in the McCaskeys' clutches.

While Noah is able to remain somewhat enthusiastic about this team, over the course of this one-hour episode Dan succumbs to Bears-related depression.

Before diving into their thoughts on the upcoming Bears season, the boys talk about the state of the Cubs and Dan has some prospect insights from a trip to Indianapolis to see the Iowa Cubs. As for the Bears, they're more optimistic about Justin Fields than the team itself.
