The Democratic Alliance says the raid of Tembisa hospital on the East Rand was long overdue. The comments come after Investigations by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) confirmed allegations of maladministration and possible fraud and corruption related to the Supply Chain Management process at Tembisa Hospital. In a report by the SIU which was released to the media by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi yesterday, the SIU also confirms the irregular appointment of service providers which caused the Gauteng Health Department to suffer irregular expenditure from January 2021.
