Once again Paul Racle and friends https://soundcloud.com/paploviante-and-friends have produced a wonderful open collaboration:

I've taken the idea of missing dust and turned it into regolith...on the moon! Who stole that moon dust?

Thanks guys!

Tomás approached me about doing a collaboration on my Open Collaboration track "Falling Asleep":

I'm always open for collaborations, so naturally I said yes!

I'm so happy with Tomás's sublime guitar and mix...thank you my (new) friend! Please make sure that you check out Tomás' SoundCloud music here:

Well, I drew inspiration from two of my earlier tracks to create this piece:

https://soundcloud.com/dacca/beltane

https://soundcloud.com/dacca/harmony

The entire composition is made from Apple loops. The mix of musical styles (according to Apple) is Irish, English, Bosnian, "Eastern" (whatever that means) and Chinese.

In my mind I was telling the story of the Mongol invasion into Eastern Europe, which mightily disturbed the medieval royal courts all the way to the Western edge of Western Europe.

The mix felt right for the subject matter, to me. I hope you enjoy it - please feel free to download - it's free!

Just look at that cute young koala!

I remember being young once....

Actually, I was thinking about how for many of my family and friends it's their Autumn (or Fall), whilst for Australians it's Spring. I could have tried to express the explanation in scientific terms (a combination of Earth's orbit and axial tilt)...but no. Something simpler, more appealing, I thought was needed.

So, I was looking for images that shout "Australia!" and realised that seasons can represent our time in life as we progress from Spring to Summer, then Autumn and finally Winter.

Then I found this public domain image of a cute little koala, which kind of expresses all those thoughts at once.

I dedicate this track to friends and family overseas (i.e. not in Australia)

As we say farewell to the Cassini space probe, I thought I'd try to capture the moment by celebrating NASA's achievement in music.

Inspired by the works of H.P Lovecraft, and The Deep Ones that inhabit the seas around Kingsport and Innsmouth.

This one was hungry!

Since my car accident a few weeks ago I've had a lot of headaches (panadol/paracetamol largely ineffective), and my sleep patterns have changed. I didn't listen much to SoundCloud much either, and my creativity was subdued a little.

In fact, for the whole of last week I had headaches 24x7. I would go to bed with headaches, and wake up with headaches.

Today I took some ibuprofen at about 3.30am and the headache has mostly gone...I think that must mean some sort inflammation of the brain was the problem. But then I couldn't get back to sleep.

Why am I telling you this sorry tale? Because I decided to create some music, and this track is the result.

The arpeggiated synths (lead, chords, and bass) are all played by me. The beats, FX and vocals are Apple Loops. All music mixed, arranged and produced by me.

I loved the playful nature of the main synth, and got thinking about superheroes. As I kid I bought Marvel comics, but I watched everything, DC or Marvel.

How many time have you watched superheroes save the world...on screen?

And how many times have superheroes saved the world?

I think The Hulk looks particularly annoyed with the title of my track...which is great as he was one of my early favourites!

I seem to be in the mood for creating calm ambient pieces at the moment. I hope you enjoy my latest effort!

I was imagining the early universe, as the light first burst out of the absolute darkness. This is after the big bang - the universe was baby only 200 million years old. Yes, the big bang happened in absolute darkness. Matter forms, light bursts forth. Order emerges from primordial chaos.
